Stream vs Cloudburst

I read everywhere that cloudburst is significantly better all-around, but I just can’t seem to make the best use of it. Should I continue to try and get better with cloudburst, or is the stream viable? (I run echo so 2x of each).

I mainly M+ (still learning) and PVP arena/RBG’s

I’m having trouble understanding how you can’t “make the best use” of cloudburst. Just set it, drop a few riptides, a healing rain and a few chain heals and it’s pretty good.

Just drop it then let it burst on its expiration
Only scenario where you want to burst it early is on a gauntlet but those are niche

Beat use is to make sure it’s good and filled up when burst hits so you can 1 tap the group back to full. I get it, it takes time it’s more about learning the dungeons than learning cloud burst. I suggest using it, especially during bursting or grevious weeks where it can be especially helpful. I don’t use it in pvp tho personally.

I’ve always been an advocate for Healing Stream Totem and I absolutely hate and will never use Cloudburst Totem.

Cloudburst totem promotes lazy game design in the sense that blizzard built it to be used at a certain time of predictability during an encounter.

The Boss does X AOE ability to the raid every 1.5 minutes:
“Better prepare the totem so that when the damage happens I can release all my stored healing!” ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ BORING.

It gives a green light and encourages blizzard to build boring choreographed boss mechanics rather than spur of the moment quick paced decision making.

I’d rather use HST because it is a smart heal and adapts to any situation, I find that those encounters are far more fun rather than watching DBM for the timer to run out so that my totem can do max HPS.

Cloudburst is great, especially in raids. Personally I’m a big fan of Flash Flood in M+ and it’s what I prefer in most dungeons/affixes, though I’m aware that I’m pretty much alone in that. It just feels a lot better to me and it’s a big help as someone who maybe doesn’t have the best reflexes. I do wish the healing from Healing Stream was a little more significant, but as it is I mostly just drop it for the potency conduit.

The other thing I like about running Flash Flood is that it makes it a little easier to run Deluge which can be really strong in certain situations.

I miss when CB and HST were separate from each other. I could pop HST to bolster healing and still prep CB for big damage bursts

THAT, would be so perfect.

Right now, I’m doing the beginning/learning thing of using CB on CD. I see the potential, but it also is annoying when it feels waisted and I either a) end up not healing much, or b) heal enough that once it bursts, the people don’t need it, and does massive overhealing.

If I had both, I’d use healing stream as this nice just in case totem for small-medium amounts of damage, and CB when I knew a big damage phase was coming-cause that’s when it’s nice right now.

Honestly,I don’t under stand calling Cloudburst boring but somehow Healing Streams smart heal is exciting.

Smart heal is the definition of boring, it automatically does it thing at the click of a button while at least Cloudburst requires the forethought of when and where to use it.

I’m not saying it’s wrong to like HST, as it has its uses just as well but Im just not understanding the comparison you made.

*If you have call to use Healing Rain, that will def pump your Cloudburst up. But honestly there’s not a huge secret to getting better with it, just drop it and pump then a few seconds later you get a big gro heal.

Cloudburst is INVALUABLE for dealing with Prideful, Bursting and many many dungeon mechanicals, I couldn’t imagine not using it. It’s on of our best talents IMHO and is fantastic in raid settings as well.

I do prefer Healing Stream in PvP tho.

With that said, I also like Flash Flood as well but they all have their uses in different scenarios.

Was thinking the same thing lol. CBT requires considerably more effort to min max, HST is a HOT that looks like a totem.
