Stranglethorn Vale

I’m none too good with words but I’ve been hearing a lot about how Stranglethorn was an extremely dangerous place on a PVP server and was wondering why is Stranglethorn so full of pvp and famous for it?

I guess what I’m asking is why is Stranglethorn such a popular hotbed of PVP?

The Gurabashi Arena is there. Also, the fishing weekly can be a bloodbath.

My memory isn’t too great, but if remembering right it was a funnel zone most people around 40 were at (and a good grind zone for mount money), had Nessingway as a neutral quest giver, had tons of overlapping quest areas for both sides, etc. Also, the boat goes there, to that neutral pirate town, so it just adds to the bottleneck funnel into that zone of players.

Nessingwary’s Camp rivalled some of the POW camps in WWII

Nesingwary’s fault. Always is.

STV has a large level range, from 30 to 40ish (maybe 45?), and lots of quests you can’t miss out on unless you grind a lot or dungeon a lot. Lots of faction neutral quests with Nesingwary and Booty Bay. For levels 40+ there’s more choices of zones that are spread out.

There was a bunch of quests to do, and it was easily accessible from Org or Stormwind.

Anecdotally, for me it was also the most common place to get corpse camped by a higher level that didn’t even belong in the zone. Every time I tried to level an alt through there.

Its a huge zone with HEAPS of quests. Most of the mobs are beasts and theres plenty of them, so its a great area for skinning.
Also as mentioned the arena and fishing events are there and also nessy’s camp for the neutral quest hub.
Its a great zone, so thats where most people go. Which means its very rich in wpvp.

Plus…it’s the JUNGLE with cool tropical music.

STVietnam with Jimmy Buffet music

Thanks for all the information, folks! I’m thinking of rolling on a PVP server and I’m fully expecting to get my butt kicked often.

It’s just a fun zone, with lots of lore to it. So much to do in that zone, and it’s big. You can easily spend hours there without seeing anyone, or you can have your every step dogged by the opposition. It’s just a crazy place all around.

Win some, lose some. The journey isn’t always fun, but in the end when you’re 60, geared, and enjoying the WPvP with your friends it was all worth it.

Good luck.
