Did they remove the stranglethorn fishing contest and add in another way to get the heirloom ring? I haven’t seen it on the calendar in quite sometime and with the amount of people that always botted and exploited the event have yet to get the ring too. Is it gone now?
it doesn’t show up on the calendar anymore for some reason but it does still happen on Sundays, I believe it starts at 2pm server time.
I also have had a recent issue with the Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza. I went last Sunday with my friend to go do it, and within the first twenty minutes the quest just dissapeared and with it the tastyfish I had been able to catch with it (I had 36 in my bag). My friend told me even though I didn’t win I could still turn in the fish for a reward yet, when the quest ended the fish vanished with it.
After putting in a ticket and going back and forth with a few of the customer server people, explaining to them I looked on Wowhead and it states the first 50 people to complete the fishing tournament can receive a reward… Not knowing that that meant the first 50 people in the entire Americas. Obviously… I wasn’t too happy with this and didn’t bring it back up but have submitted a suggestion that they instead make it the first 25 people per realm, not the first 50 of thousands who play in the America’s alone.
I also went because I wanted the heirloom ring, and if this does not change, then I will not be participating in the Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza anymore. I think it is slightly ridiculous how we go, work for it, and end up getting nothing at all even though there is a goblin located by the quest giver to turn in the remaining tastyfish.
I hope this gets fixed, and good luck to all who go out there trying to get it. Just keep in mind, currently it is the first 50 people in the America’s according to Blizzard’s staff.
