Strange things are afoot at the Emerald Gateway

I’ve been wondering something for years, but never could figure this out. Whenever I go to the Emerald Dreamway, I get a line of text that says something along the lines of “You hear a (random sound) towards the (random) gateway”.

What exactly is that about? Is it something I’m supposed to check out? Or is it just some random coolness factor?

It’s for the Feral Druid Hidden Artifact Skin.

Basically you go into that portal & look for the Feral stone (tiny stone w/ a paw on it). You click it and get another text message.

When you do it 3 times, the owlcat shows up in the Dreamway & gives you a feather. It unlocks the skin.
