Strange Legacy Dungeon/Raid Reward Scaling

For example, Mythic Antorus, the Burning Throne, for level 45s, drops ilvl 251. However Mythic Sanctum of Domination, for level 60s, drops ilvl 252. BFA Mythic0 dungeons, for level 50, are item level 256. Mythic Ny’alotha for level 50s and Mythic Sepulcher for level 60s both drop item level 278. However Shadowlands mythic0 dungeons drop 336.

If there is supposed to be some logic to this, what is it? Maybe I should be level locking a 45 and bringing them into M Antorus, is that very overpowered for them?

It’s presumably a result of a) stat squishes and b) how many tiers/sub-tiers of gear in each expansion there were. Antorus was a final raid tier while Sanctum was a middle tier, so if the base level for a what iLvl gear for a fresh 45 and a fresh 60 are very close to each other, then the gear from the end an expansion will be higher, even, than early end game gear from a diff. expansion.

There’s no logic to it. The stat squishes were all screwy and we’re now seeing the genetic mutations appear several generations down the line.

I reported this last year too. It definitely doesn’t line up, and a level 45 could go have someone carry them through Antorus and have massively broken stats with a full set of 251 gear. If they decided to troll a pvp bracket with that, it’d be prettyyyy brutal.

It’s not an actual logical thing, or a deliberate thing. They wanted to do as little work on the squishes as possible, so they locked in a formula they could run everything through, decided the output was good enough not to care about things like this, and let it go live.

For the few BGs you get to run before out leveling it. Alternatively you could turn off XP and never get a BG to pop again.

Twinks are cute little trophies, but have little function nowadays. The squishes killed them.
