Main issues are with my rotation (even on a dummy) and looting. I’ll press execute and it’ll lag for a second before going off. I’ll even see the crit number a second and a half after the animation. Another problem is when I auto loot sometimes it won’t go off, I’ll have to do it again to loot. I also remembered leveling and having quest givers not show me the quest pane, so I’ll have to run away from them and interact again to get the quest to open.
Finally not sure if this is related, but I disconnect once a day when lifting off on my dragonriding mount. Double tap space bar, d/c.
I only have a dps meter addon, I just tried switching my dns servers and it got marginally better but the problem still remains. I have 400mbps down. Overwatch has no delay, so is it WoW?
Edit: Oh forgot to mention, during the proscenium event I have maybe 6 second delay after pressing an ability. Latency is low yet again. Yet epic bgs are just fine with max graphics during boss fights/60-player spell spam.
Edit2: Also I have a 5800x, 1000w psu, 4090, 64g ram. No other game behaves strangely. I can’t remember the one month I tried dragonflight being like this either.
I’ve been having this exact issue since around Dragonflight launch, pretty sure I was fine in Shadowlands.
I see people post this every once and a while but there is never any solutions I have even changed PC three times and ISP once. No idea what is causing it. Happens with addons, happens without too. I notice it more on some specs like Frost DK.
Yeah I play a lot of different games and it is insane that I can play FFXIV @ 160MS on a US server and have less lag/delay than 15MS on WoW. It’s 100% a WoW issue and no matter how much I message them/put in tickets they always respond with the same awful AI response.
I only play wow and D4. But wow keeps d/c me and automatically rebooting my computer when I lift off in flight or am flying through the Causeway in TWW.
Since Tuesday after the shutdown, it had been really difficult to play.
I am having the same issue. The game is so laggy my FPS is jumping all over the place to the point where the game is completely unplayable. Spells and combat lag out so bad there’s several seconds. It was like - stop, go, stop, go, stop, go. It was so bad last night my char was lagged out of my screen trying to fight and the screen froze. Even just flying around there’s a jumpy lag. I hope there’s a solution to this today. I want to keep playing!
I think the issue OP is listing isn’t FPS or even ping related. We have good ping, good PCs and high FPS but the game will just lock up on GCD presses randomly. I even get the same looting and questing issues. It feels like packet loss but it isn’t?
I’ve been having input lag this whole expansion. It was tolerable, but today I can’t even play due to high latency. It will be good for a few minutes, and then it will jump to 3k+. No other game or application has any problem.
I suppose since this is the tech support section, if the thread devolves into just ragging on blizzard they’ll just delete it since no one’s attempting a solution. Though you are right, I played wrath and early cata and I don’t remember this ever being an issue unless you had bad internet. And appropriately, it would reflect in your latency. Unlike now. Tech should get better with time, not worse. At the very least they should put out a PSA saying they’re aware of the problem and will attempt a fix in due time.
