Since the ICC patch for WOTLK came out both my friend and I have been experiencing an issue with strafing while using the mouse 4/5 buttons for left/right where it will get stuck and not stop strafing after the button is released. Same happened on PTR but not on the previous WOTLK patch. Very annoying issue for people who use these keys for strafing.

Yeah, same here. Apparently it has been a problem since 10.1 for months now and they just spread this virus over to wotlk. Very disappointing and it’s a game breaker. You can rebind your mouse keys to other keyboard keys with 3rd party softwares, but don’t get banned for autohotkeying…

Please raise awareness by commenting on the forums and submit a bug ticket in game!
Same here with buttons 3/4/5. Very disappointing. Hard to control in dungeons or raids.
I’m in the same boat. Please tell me there is a fix for this other than rebinding my strafe keys. My entire key bind setup is based on strafe being bound to the mouse thumb buttons.

I have been getting this as well since release, posted on another forum, kind of worrying to see this still not addressed

Same here. I rebound it to other keys and it kept happening.
What I’ve determined is that if i have a mouseover tied to that button, and I deselect the button when I’m mousing over my raid frames, I don’t stop strafing. It’s super frustrating, had to rebind a key that I’ve had bound that way for like a decade.

Happening to me on all my chars too. Don’t remember exactly how to replicate it, but all that causes it is strafing then pressing or holding down one or both right and left click and when you go to stop moving your char will be stuck autorun strafing.
Extremely detrimental to gameplay and I’m not sure if I can afford the learning curve to completely rebind movement keys that I have been using for 5 years while also doing ICC progression for the first time. A fix would be very much appreciated

Seems to be reproduceable by:
Holding down the right mouse button to steer then strafing with either mouse button 4 or 5. While still strafing, left click at any time (can release right mouse button or keep it held down) and it will auto run strafe. Can be turned off by pressing the corresponding mouse button 4 or 5 again
same here with Corsair harpoon mouse on thumb buttons 4/5. driving me bananas

I use mouse button 4 to move forward and mouse button 2 steer/look around and for some reason sometimes when i let go of button button 4 to stop i just keep on going. About a year ago the same thing was happening in retail and you guys fixed it…please do so again as this does cause problems when raiding.
