Is this true? I honestly don’t know. I mean I know they also use shadow magic for their afflictions, but I thought that they were specifically shadow and fel users.
Honestly, even if that is the reason. That’s still good enough for me. Death Knights call themselves Death Knights cause Death Knight is metal! I’m all in! I love my edgy boi!
This was my understanding. Death Knights are literally undead knights that use undead magic. Though I thought it was to combat mages not paladins…Not that I mind. Take that Paladins… You’re just priest with heavier clothing! (I kid Pally mains!)

Yup, you have warlocks using fire from the firelands. A lot of warlocks are necromancers that is looking for a little bit more. Warlocks use arcane magic a lot as well. Sometimes they use other schools of magic and combine it with fel, which is where soul shards come into play because to use fel you need to sacrifice life.
That is why you can say your destro lock can use fire from anywhere you wish. Until you get the green fire from the questline which corruptd it with fel.

Huh. I got to go back and relearn all my WoW lore again. I’ve been away too long. If Warlocks are that versatile, then I definitely think that they are on the shortlist for “powerhouse” class.
(I still consider first Gen DKs to be DKs and not Locks, but it is super interesting. I’m just stubborn and push for anything more Necromancy flavored. Looks over at MM hunter Dark Ranger Transmog xD)
Yeah, that is why warlocks usually are the ones causing the most problems. Reason why there aren’t as many as them is because they usually kill themselves in the process of gaining more power.
Fel imps are usually their first demonic summon in the quest for power and the one that usually kills them with their fel bolt. Void walkers also kill those that lose control.

The original death knights were crafted for Orgrim Doomhammer by Gul’dan to serve as formidable soldiers for the Horde. These death knights were formed by embedding the souls of slain Shadow Council warlocks into the bodies of fallen Stormwind knights, with Teron Gorefiend being the first. Unlike the modern death knights of the Scourge, these undead warriors were not seasoned fighters; instead, they were spellcasters with exceptional intelligence and immense magical abilities.

Yea Honestly they read a lot more like modern Necromancers to me the more I remember. (It’s been a while since I cracked open my WC2 lore)

They are a mix of things. They were originally warlocks but they used Necromancy as well. Gul’dan also used necromancy. The modern wow concept of Necromancer is from the Scourge Necromancer. I prefer the Scourge necromancer.

Yea, Warlocks blowing themselves up! That I do know xD
Used to be Paladins, then it was a tie between Shamans and Druids, and now Mages I think.

Please, a warlock and a mage will turn them into tinder.
They resist magic. Not only, but are also encased in an armor that absorbs magic and have abilities that render them immune to magic. A warrior might be a bigger threat to a Death Knight than a magic user.
Saronite armor only resits nature magic. They themselves aren’t resistant to magic. They are resistant to the void and nature but fel or fire, not so much.
And let us not forget, a strong warlock will have demonic minions.
