Where is the KorKron/Maghar army discussed in heartlands?
Where is Thrall, he was in a couple quests in the first zone but now is just… gone?
Whats going on in Orgrimmar or in any horde races (not goblin) right now?
I got a few catch up cinematics and I have seen a few in YT videos but this has been my journey:
-Azeroth started talking to Thrall, Magni and Anduin in visions
-They went to Dalaran and teleported to some far off/forgotten continent west of kalimdor?
-Dalaran was destroyed by Xala’tath (and she has been pretending to be some wizard on the dalaran council for a while - is this a reference to ninja scroll where Lord Gemma disguised himself as Sakaki)
-Xala’tath killed Kadgar (this has been the high point of the xpac thus far)
-We fought Nerubians (void allies), Dwarves showed up they worshiped Magni (like Ewoks and C3PO in starwars)
-We went through a Dwarven city and deposed its leader for a more politically aligned one (CIA style)
-We then went to a Christian bible camp style zone where we talked about the light and salvation for a while and killed spiders
-we then went to the spider nest and found some pretty cool spiders (I hit max level here)
-I then went to undermine and have been driving a car around doing side quets, then Xala’tath showed up and used the dark heart (is that the necklace Iridikron had, did he give it to her)… this is the bit I am missing I don’t know how we got from primal incarnate disappearing mid dragonflight to Xala’tath using it to destroy Dalaran to Gallywix having it to “repair it”.
Sounds like you missed the entirety of the 11.0 max level campaign plus the epilogue to it, the prologue to 11.1 and the Kirin tor stuff.
Not everything you’re missing is in there, but some of it is. We still don’t know why Iridikron allied himself with Xal’atath or the bargain the two of them made. We likely won’t even see Iridikron again until the Last Titan (two expansions from now).
Thrall is MIA as usual, aside from the couple of quests in the beginning and the side quests about the stormrooks and Lufsela taking on the role of Stormward. I hope we see more of him, kind of weird that he was such a prominent part of the TWW cinematic but has pretty much disappeared. At least Anduin stuck around for pretty much the entire Hallowfall campaign and is in quite a few cinematics (we even get some closure with him finding the Light again).
Not sure how long you have been gone for, but we don’t get separate Horde and Alliance stories anymore, it’s just one story for everyone. The Horde has unfortunately been on the backburner for quite some time and things thus far have been centered around Alleria, Khadger, and Anduin. We don’t really see any notable Horde leaders (minus Thrall, very briefly) in any important cinemetics or cutscenes in this expansion.
We do know that in the next expansion, Midnight, we’ll be returning to Quel’Thalas, so it makes sense that Blood Elves (and all elves in general) will be prominently featured then. No guarantees about the other Horde races, though.
On the topic of Horde representation, for Paladin lovers, there is a cool little interaction in Hallowfall though where you see Great Kyron showing Sunwalker Dezco and High Prelate Rata around Mereldar and they take a moment to admire Beledar. It’s ultimately insignificant in the grand scheme of things, but I thought it was nice for them to include those two in there, especially since Paladin lore in general is so heavily human-centric and focuses on the Light so much. It’s nice for some of the Horde races that can be Paladins to have representation, even if their belief system and source of power is different (I do wish they would expand on this more though and give us more in-game stuff around it). Same goes for the quest where Leif becomes a Lamplighter, which sheds some light on how Earthen become Paladins.
It really does feel like the WoW story team leans really heavily on content creators to tell their story for them, which sucks cause the story is actually pretty neat.
Oh I probably skipped / didn’t encounter that yet… seems I skipped a lot by going to undermine (I assumed there would be a story catch up somewhere)… I now armless chick and Anduin spoke painstaking AT LENGTHS all throughout the bible camp zone but dont think he actualy got light powers back in that zone?
On and off in dragonflight… up until the end of BFA (the horde are nothing), I was really into wow/the lore.
Yeah thats why I finally got around to buying the xpac, seemed like goblins would include a horde perspective… but nah.
Yeah… I am just PRAYING they dont bring Sylvanas back. She is damaged goods as a character now after “the horde are nothing”, if they trot her out again as “oh no that wasnt me it was the jailer” I will feel cheated again.
See this is what I loved about earlier wow… the game was a collection of fun little interactions and moments that made it feel like an actual world and not a narrative retelling of key events. You would think with AI and chatbots and the like, they could add a lot more character interactions around the game.
