Just killed the queen in story mode, with a great assortment of NPCs we meet along the way.
Saw the basics of the fight and the cinematic, did the quest and I’m done. I don’t have to think about the raid again if I don’t want to.
One of the best additions ever.

That’s great to hear. Honestly my spouse and i have played together since Wrath. But we don’t have tine for guilds and dedicated raid nights. So for years we’ve played, hit a dead end at end game, unsubbed, waites months, come back and done the new patch. We never saw raida or full end until afterwards. (Ie hit level 70, go tackle BfA, then after last DF patch tackle SL…)
Being able to juat do it qith npcs to see the story continue will result in us staying aubbed longer and enjoying the game more.
How does one unlock the story mode and where do i queue for it?
its by the campaign area in the west of the dornogol map. a little nerubian spider gives the quest
I was a little disappointed that it skips straight to the last boss. I was expecting that we would be able to run the whole raid in story mode, not just one fight.
they dont have any story on the other bosses.
i was surprised how well done the story mode is
sad that i didnt see a johnny awesome NPC to fight with
they said if there is bosses in a raid with a story they would make a story mode with those included.
this one just didnt have anything other than ansurek death cinematic

Thought I was gonna fight her on LFR, but only part 2 is available at the moment. Likely 2 more weeks until Ansurek on LFR.
Already saw the cinematics, just wanna see the neutered raid encounter in story mode lol.
If I recall, back in Legion, when you played as Illidan in Black Temple, Johnny Awesome is there afk in the back lol
Leave it to Blizzard to hide this quest in an area of the map I never go to.

It’s like when people say leveling alts and gearing alts is super easy…that’s content, why are you skipping content in the game?
I happen to be questing in Azj-Kahet and got the quest at the bazaar. It is pretty awesome I was surprised to see npcs as raid members.

I feel like the Nexus Princess and the Silken Court should’ve been part of Story Mode though. As you do see them via holograms in the questline to get the quest to kill Ansurek.
Plus the ending of the nexus Princess fight has some interesting implications.
Not to mention the fourth boss of the raid… which is the final boss of the Dawnbreaker dungeon.

Now they need to give us the option to do the WHOLE RAID in story mode but still give loot

sounds like the … not-story-mode is what you want.
Really don’t think Blizzard have the time to tune ‘followers’ for every boss in the instance, even in a ‘dumbed down’ story mode.
