I attempted to imagine Hollie or Ion doing this and my brain 404’d.

This is basically what Afrasiabi did to all the other lead lore devs on his way out.

So… basically they’ll grumble, a few snippets of the politics will make its way to twitter or kotaku, and everyone will keep trucking on, because the games industry is a cruel mistress and there aren’t that many equivalent positions.

I said President of the Company not the Lead Lore Dev!

Basically imagine if Morhaime overruled Afrasiabi and Christie Golden to their faces by declaring that the next WoW Expansion will kill off a hated(by fans) Character that Afrasiabi and Golden love while getting right up to their faces and making it clear since he is the President they will obey while we were watching at Blizzcon!

That would be a different kind of Blizzcon… to watch the President of the Company wield a magic glove, saying:

“You will do it!”

while Devs writhe in agony on the stage, until they promise to comply.

Hmmm basically what Nightsong, Waygs and Cursewords said… although if a dev is sabotaging he better just be looking for another job or moving to another department before his found out. (IMO)

However, if a President of a Company wants something, it just needs to happen, specially if its a public announcement, as bad as that would be for a dev team. lol
IMO and experience I really don’t recommend it going against what they want… it’s not a good working experience to go through, if you survive, as sour as this can be.

Basically happy boss, happy job!

Story time! lol of situation I went through similar to what you mention

I went through this quite a few years ago, my manager and the department resisted and that lead the CEO in a bad light with his clients and friends. Manager got demoted and move to another department, the devs were forced to work on it or else and does who chose not too because they were “too busy”, found themselves force to train their replacement or a “helper” as human resources call it… most devs left eventually, didn’t train well the new guys and they had to learn mostly from scratch. I was assigned to assist in this chaos and help them navigate our tools and systems. For some reason the CEO took a liking of me and started to get me training in different departments, coincidently the ones who didn’t want to do what he announce… this lead most in those department to dislike me. Even though the CEO was in constant contact with me asking me specific details of certain procedures that went on on these department I never once complain about how they treated me and just focus on what he ask, but that didn’t stop the departments Leads to sit down with the CEO to try and get me fired, for doing what CEO was literally train and paid me to do. For some reason the CEO found that amusing… I could go on… but let me sum it up. None who didn’t do what was ask was still working there by the end of the year. In other words keep the CEO happy and try to make what he wants a success, it will be better for your career even if it might be soul crushing, IF your determined to stay in that Job you just have to push yourself and make it happen.

It would be the President of the Company declaring “The Customer(who hates your favorite character(s)) is always right and any of you Developers who argue are fired!” in public!

I feel like that would break what few flimsy labour protections america has

I feel like I’m missing something with WQs this time around. Is it just me, or does Hallowfall and Azj-Kahet have extremely limited amount of WQs? I can’t unlock the weekly quest in Hallowfall because it’s only been giving me one WQ per day.

Yeah WQ’s feel limited in this expansion. My guess a part of why is because level 80 rares (as in rares that were not designed to be killed while leveling your first character) give rep weekly. So a lot of rep that you would have gotten from WQ’s are now on rares. As such Blizzard limited the amount of WQ’s you now get.

Not sure how many others there are, but at least one of the options are locked behind a quest chain. It’s a grub farm I wanna say.

You should also check your map filters to make sure you haven’t toggled something off.

I haven’t done any of the side quests in Azj-Kahet. I should get around to those and see if that changes anything.

But thanks for the advice. I’ll look into that too :dracthyr_heart:

All the Same for the next patch.

Well, I saw all those awesome Earthen clothes and got Dwarf FOMO, so I turned Naovi into a Dwarf.

Except now, I miss my waggle terribly!

So, I will be spotlighting as an adorable little Dwarf lady until Wednesday night when the race change cooldown expires.

See, I knew there was a kernel of sense in there somewhere.

Earthen are great actually.

I will not have everyone ready for the Solo Shuffle/RBG rounds on Tuesday. I probably won’t even have my main ready. I’ve mostly been goofing around.

But honestly, that’s okay. I’ll catch up.

I have 9 characters on 80 already. Feels like a breeze.

I am trying to imagine a Dwarf Worgen and for some reason all I can imagine is a pug.

I have… one 80 and two 74s.

I can’t say I’ve exactly had a lot of WoW nose to the grindstone time though. And I did level my Earthen from dungeon spamming from level 10.

Which meant I had a dark, horrible period of having her in unmogged BC dungeon gear.

My Earthen is only 35 right now. I will do the rest in two days once my Vulpera reaches max means all my RP mains for the upcoming events will be ready for all zones.
