I must be immune.

The website refers to you as Amadis as well. Do you RP a NE Druid IRL 24/7?

Isnā€™t it an hispanic name like in AmadĆs de Gaula?

I am so bored in WoW right now, I even bothered to level a Zandalari. I want some 8.2 news and maybe a new PTR build with Nazjatar in order to have fun exploring something new!

Do you have every 0.0000000001% drop pet from Island Expeditions? If not, how can you say youā€™re bored and want more content? BFA has tons of ā€œcontentā€!

I did get a bit more of them in 8.1.5 so I donā€™t know if they buffed the drop rate or not.
My goal was to obtain the priestressā€™ moonsaber and since I bought it, I donā€™t have anything to do exept leveling my alts.

Yeah, Iā€™ve BARELY played in the last 6 months and I feel like Iā€™ve done 100% of the content. My account runs out at the start of July (finally!), I kind of hope 8.2 is out by then.

I canā€™t endorse this enough. Humans are communal animals. We need each other. Studies have shown that loneliness can trigger the same regions of the brain as physical pain. Donā€™t be afraid to talk to friends and family or even a sympathetic stranger.

A mental illness is very similar to a physical illness. Many of them are like colds, they make you feel like dog poo for a week and then pass. However, some of them can be very serious and/or chronic, requiring help to manage them. The sooner you reach out, the sooner people can help you.

Wow Japan is a messed up place. Suicide is never a good thing or the right thing to do. A lot of the time you already feel like a burden and that you should relieve that burden you think you are on the people you know, you donā€™t need society telling you to go for it.

They use it to voice their displeasure at their boss and to regain their lost honorā€¦ Clearly Vanity! Vanity is truly a nasty vice!

I assume that was sarcasm? Even if itā€™s not like what I described that still sounds like a really messed up reason to kill yourself.

Idk about voicing displeasure about your boss. I was mostly refering to seppuku/harakiri. It was used by disgraced samurai to regain their honor, though it eventually spread to nobles and women to avoid capture during war.

Plus, there was the whole kamikaze thing.

Definitely messed up. The Japanese Government eventually banned this process sometime before World War 2 and yet the corruption still lingers.

Greece and Rome had similar corruption before Christians got it banned.

The Samurai have been mentioned on TV Tropes at least of committing Seppuku because they saw their boss as doing something dishonorable.

Honor or rather Dignity is Vanity and Vanity is terrible!

Thatā€™s justā€¦strange. How can you regain your honor when youā€™re dead? Even if it did have something to do with you surely you could do more to get it back alive than dead.

Itā€™s like the debates here on just what Orcish honor even means. Itā€™s just a fundamentally different culture that doesnā€™t always line up with our Western way of thinking. Like how an Orc Warriorā€™s honor, and a MHPā€™s honor are fundamentally different in alot of ways.

I actually looked it up and even the Japanese government thinks itā€™s gone too far. Theyā€™ve spent over a decade trying to curb the social attitude that suicide is a way to deal with things. Good for them.

SFCL got really dark there. Isnā€™t this the place to talk about things like getting a new puppy?

Yeah, theyā€™ve actually modernized relatively rapidly in terms of their outreach and prevention programs. You just canā€™t change a culture overnight. Especially considering ritual seppuku has been around since at least the 1100s (plus whatever its precursors might have been).

I did just get some new kohaku swordtails (a kind of fish), and an Argentine horned toad. So, close enough? :joy:

Itā€™s easy to let media color how we perceive foreign countries, but in my experience, people around the world are more similar than youā€™d think! All the more reason to share in each otherā€™s cultures and experience everything the world had to offer ^.^

Iā€™d love to get a new puppy! I saw a cat yesterday while gardening with the prettiest green eyes. Managed to coax the little guy over and say hello, but he bolted when I went to take my gloves off for petting. Must have thought I was going for a weapon xD

Anyone else here really excited for Endgame? I canā€™t wait to see how things turn out. Iā€™m craving a big happy ending for everyone!

Iā€™m also really excited for Shazam, even though I havenā€™t historically enjoyed the DC movies. The trailers look wonderful, though, and Shazam/Captain Marvel is my favorite DC hero. Hopefully itā€™s received well and I get to watch it before long!

Kind of? Vicariously, I suppose. I hope people get the satisfactory ending theyā€™re wanting. Comics and superheroes were more of my exā€™s shtick, though (while high fantasy was mine). Dr. Strange is really the only one Iā€™m a fan of, and thatā€™s for being so different from your other superheroes.

Idk if it counts as like an official DC movie, or not, but I saw the trailer for Joker earlier. Iā€™m definitelyā€¦ intrigued.

shrugs I have my doubts thereā€™s going to be a happy ending. Iā€™m not a fan of the idea but people these days seem to go angst = deep so happy endings are considered shallow popcorn flick fare. Just look at the first part of Infinity War, it was far more serious than a Marvel movie should be.

I think itā€™s nice to see some colour and optimism in the DC universe for a change. Iā€™m going to see it over the weekend but I think itā€™ll at least be enjoyable.

I actually havenā€™t seen any of the promotional material for the new Joker movie. I am really, really hoping they didnā€™t go full nihilistic sociopath on him like the Ledger Joker. Heā€™s supposed to be the kind of monster that can make you laugh but aside from the pencil trick the Joker in TDK didnā€™t really do any of that. He was just a generic psycho.
