I’m not a communist. But I’ve met plenty. They’re generally well read, thoughtful and interesting. That’s not to say you don’t have red lunatics on a one person crusade to prove horse shoe theory true. Particularly on this Putin matter as they seem incapable of believing anything bad can happen in this world without a CIA agent present.
But I also cut my teeth on 4chan. I’m a huge history dork with a particular interest in European military history, the German language, ancient Rome, Warhammer 40k and firearms. So guess who I run into a lot?
Comparing these two groups is pants on head ridiculous. They might both be radical but that’s where any similarities end. How many mass killings have been driven by white nationalist ideologies in just the past few years? All of which were happy to express their reasonings in online manifestos.
One is a clear and present danger with increasingly mainstream acceptances and the other are mostly literature dorks who can’t organize a facebook comment section much less a red army. They’re only a threat if you feel mean comments on Twitter are equivalent to church massacres…

To say that is where the similarities end is just a gross avoidance of fascist origins and ideology.
I am a big history buff too. In fact, if I didn’t go into business, I think I would have wanted to be a history teacher. The problem with how history is taught these days is colored by world war two. Between the Titan avatars of those ideologies grew to hate each other, understandably, during the conflict. Both spread their own propaganda that distanced themselves from eachother, and it is so effective that most people even today still think they are political opposed ideologies. But they aren’t.

My point is even if everyone left of say Hillary Clinton was genuinely a Stalinist, they’d still be a laughable threat compared to the people threatening to bomb hospitals because they offer gender affirming care.
Just look at the past week for a sudden rise of blatant antisemitism. We’ve got the former POTUS rambling about how ungrareful American Jews are while Kanye West declares whatever Death Con 3 is on them.
I feel like I’m taking crazy pills out here. Ya’ll are scared of this alleged Red Chinese conspiracy when if I’m Xi Jiping I’m sitting I’d be laughing my rear off, just waiting for this country to tear itself apart, because a worrying amount are convinved transgender Mexican Muslims are coming to defile their communities. Even as banks foreclose on their homes, their mom dies of Covid and the only money flowing to their hometown seems to be for police tanks.

I think I used my last like for a while on this post but honestly all good reasons to like Rhaenys.
I hope before we get a Blackfyre rebellion era (since they have said the dance specifically will be 4 seasons but the show itself will span more eras) I hope we see a Daeron the Young Dragon, I want to see Dorne give the 7 kingdoms more than they bargained for for invading their land.
I have a soft spot for Dorne too even if I like the Lannisters the most - its why I want winds to hurry up bcz I think Arianne is going to marry Aegon & Arianne alone is a power house but teamed up w Aegon omg.

I was in LA for a Rammstein concert recently, and honestly, I am well traveled and seen some real horrible places. LA has to be the worst. I was genuinely frightened by the amount of homeless, chasing each other with machetes and pipes. Literal human fecal matter on the street. People starving and ODing on the side of the road. City wide rolling blackouts.
my comparatively right-wing town is a paradise by comparison. Clean. Virtually zero homeless. Extremely ethnically diverse, predominately Latino. I have never been more happy to live where I live, and it has nothing to do with people’s gender, race or religion.

Yeah neoliberalism is a mfer glad we agree on something. Also I obviously also like Rammstein. Never been to a show though but I’m not actually a big fan of concerts.
