Midsummer Fire Festival, conversely, is the best implemented in my opinion. It’s still clear what it corresponds to if you know the American calendar, but it’s much more than 1:1 substitutions.

In general I am not against holiday implementations in games, but it’s a little sad that I haven’t seen a Christmas/Solstice implementation better than that in Asheron’s Call 23 years later.

As it pleases you. This is a video game story hobby forum. If you got worked up, and you want to simmer down, then that is that.

Well, I do appreciate some of the stuff you say. You call attention to stuff that people might miss. You have kept people honest, who wanted to obfuscate their post histories. That has gotten you into trouble sometimes, but I have appreciated it. And it has sparked discussion.

You like to make good bye posts. I don’t know why you say Goodbye, I say hello.

Trying to workshop one of my characters.

I’ve had a half orc character named Mordracca who is the adult half Orc daughter of this toon and a Shadowmoon darkcaster named Agrona. The two characters were unaware of eachother until Mordracca was already an adult.

Wasn’t happy with her initial incarnation. Was too much of an ancillary character who existed to give Benedikt a reason to really care about the living. Didn’t have enough of agency of her own.

So I’ve refigured it a bit to make her a Shaman and official part of AV’s Frostwolves but with lack of lore on mixed races I’m deciding it runs on TES rules where the mother’s race is the dominant one and they just have mild hints of the father’s parentage. That seems to be the case for Arator at least.

Rough idea is they’ve actually met several times. Under less than pleasant circumstance like when the Forsaken asked the Frostwolves for militarty aid in Hillsbrad but were rebuffed.

But they both happen to find Agrona in the Shadowlands. Ben is just happy to see an old friend. They were never romantically involved Mordracca is the result of them hiding in a yeti cave and acting like panicked mammals. They bump into Agrona at the same time and an explanation is given.

That still seems too much. Idk still working on the idea. But conceptually the idea of a Forsaken with living Horde progeny and an Orc with an undead parent still seems interesting enough to poke at.

Eventually something cool is bound to fall out’ve this pairing. In particular I think the Shaman class was the right move as they’re both spiritual leaders from very different schools of thought.

Idk one of those things I’m convinced will lead to something interesting if I keep reexamining it.

Good lord were these posts something to get caught up on. I apologize for bringing back up the drama, but my name was brought up so I feel that I need to address it. I do not deny that I have been a part of some inflammatory shenanigans, so I am not guilt-free from what has happened. As much as I wanted the opposite, I have contributed to the forums being a negative place at times. I have had good intentions but sometimes they have backfired.

The forums have put me in dark, negative moods at times which has resulted in me reacting accordingly. I have lashed out against people, plotted against them, and prolonged hostile situations when they should’ve been put to rest. I’ve put more focus on being productive in my life recently, so I’ve been away from my computer more to make real life accomplishments. As hard as it can be, I often care about what people think of me, and not having to brood on that has made me feel more positive. Sometimes touching grass instead of touching keyboard is what’s healthy.

I thought by now people would mostly move on from the drama like I have, but that doesn’t seem so. I think it’s time to let it go. If anyone has any problems with me, you’re welcome to message me, you can send me a letter ingame and I’ll try to respond to it when I can. I prefer making amends where I can. Let’s have a good time instead of making this a combative environment.

As an Elf poster, I hate to admit it, but the past few posts prove one thing…

Elves and Furries sure dwell in the drama. I can see why we get that reputation as posters. What even is this.

It is funny to read though. Like wtf. I used to see my sister’s “Sweet Valley High” books strewn about - I imagine the contents of those young female oriented novels were similar.

“You said someone’s name one time!”

“I post on Alts to have open discussion!”

“I have a secret!”

Lordy Lou…

So, DB Super: Super Hero was better than I expected. It was pretty nostalgia baity and there were some missed easy lay-ups but it did feel a lot like it was written by people who loved the B cast from late DB and early-mid DBZ and wanted to give them all as much time in the limelight as possible. While it is mired in nostalgia, it’s not the bits of nostalgia that have been hammered to death prior and it ends up coming out feeling more fresh than not.

I saw Super Hero recently, and as a Dragon Ball fan I loved it. If you’re a Gohan fan I think you’ll like it too, and he’s not in that gi most of the time. It’s not a retread of the Cell Saga, it’s more of a continuation and expands on the Red Ribbon Army. There’s a lot of character development that happens, and Piccolo is the main character which is really interesting. The first half kind of felt like Nolan’s Batman IMO, the movie has good humor throughout, and Pan is adorable. My only problem is that The Great Saiyaman wasn’t mentioned which to me is disappointing since it would’ve fit thematically.

On a WoW related note - as a Horde Player, Blizzard might have traumatized me with their Alliance bias.

I was watching the liberal media, and someone said “Joe Biden gave a stern rebuke to Putin” over the invasion of Ukraine.

My mind immediately went to Anduin giving a “stern rebuke” to Genn for Stormheim. In both cases, it seems pretty apt yet inconsequential.

“Stern rebuke” has lost any meaning it may have had.

(I was kidding about the “liberal media” thing. I just think that is funny to say. I was watching it, after all)

This was my big issue, yeah. Just such an obvious lay-up that it’s baffling it’s missing. But I did enjoy the rest quite a bit.

At least Gohan hasn’t lapsed his training completely this time. Not fully into it, but not fully lapsed. And no frickin’ Father-Son Kamehameha.

I don’t really care for the “new” form still, though.

It is also very weird that there wasn’t any bookending on the ‘Gohan being a bit of an absentee dad’, though I suppose it was ultimately a harmless amount; compared to the trope of the Japanese absent father, Gohan is still relatively involved.

I saw Don’t Worry Darling today and the message was very… timely.

Spoilers

IIRC I’m pretty sure there was.

Yeah I don’t think it was too much of a problem. Not nearly as bad as Goku but some of that is there. I like that Gohan has become a studious scientist too, Chichi’s efforts in having him be educated paid off. I don’t know if that aspect is dealt with in the Super show, I haven’t paid much attention to it despite having been a DBZ fan.

The woman I’m currently pining after that is really interested in that as she has an enduring love of Harry Styles.

Hoping it works out. We actually hooked up in High School briefly. I was just mad about her but it wasn’t really a good match as I was still in my hoodlum arc.

She’s already married and divorced an English adventurer type. Which is good. Because I’m at the point of my life where my scariest friend is now aggressively stone cold sober and is teaching a HS black history class.

Being an adult is so weird. I once cracked a bottle over a man’s head who was pointing a gun at him. Then we built a step ledder out’ve plastic milk boxes and sacrificed q leather jacket to get over a barb wire all to run for our dear lives down an active railway. And that’s not even the wildest part of the story.

Now I’m telling people how to make the biggest financial decisions of their lives and he’s melding young minds.

Vonnegut was right;

True terror is to wake up one morning and discover that your high school

I would absolutely not recommend seeing this movie with anyone you are interested in dating. Here’s the best review I found on it on the web.

It’s kind of a dystopian horror about MRA fantasy becoming a tech reality. The gaslighting from the men in this movie really captures what it’s like being a woman in any male dominated space. There’s a dinner party scene where Frank (Chris Pine’s) Charater secretly goads Florence Pugh’s character into fighting with him, just so that he can publically call her crazy. She’s not crazy, she’s aware she’s in this Heart of Darkness but that’s what gaslighting is, and Frank knows he can get away with it.

It’s not a good date movie.

That’s all.

Anyway, pandaria is sooo much fun, I forgot how beautiful it all is. Kind of obsessed with Jade Forest at the moment though

I wonder if he meant to post that from his human main? As he too plays an elf.

Irony.
