I would highly reccomend that you seek out the comics. The visual experience will hit you just as hard as the narrative one.
Oh Iâm definitely going to seek them out now. Particularly if it doesnât get a second season which Gaiman said isnât guaranteed yet.
Which sounds bonkers to me as it was the most watched show in Netflixâs history. I know itâs expensive but this is a USP for a streaming service if Iâve ever seen one.
Netflix has an absolute bonkers history for how they manage to snatch failure from the jaws of victory.
I had a good friend who was all about the Sandman franchise years ago, and he raved about it. He had a bunch of the comics and he was a big Neil Gaiman fan.
I never dipped my toe much in to it, but the franchise has fans that swear by it, and are over the moon for it. If you liked the series, you likely would enjoy the other material.
IMNSHO the Sandman franchise put the Vertigo imprint on the map.
I just recently got into it. Iâm still only a few episodes in but I am a huge fan of Gaimanâs other works.
Man even did Dr. Who. in âThe Doctorâs Wifeâ.
My sub runs out at midnight, and Iâm not sure how much longer itâll allow me to post after that, so I just wanted to say Iâve had fun posting here over the years. Even as my interest in Warcraft lore declined, talking and debating with all of you kept it alive.
Have fun on whatever new adventures you find yourself in. Been a pleasure
tomorrow the gw2 events kick off and steam launch so join the steam dream team!
What would you say is more deadly: The Forsakenâs blight or FF14âs Black Rose (more specifically before the Umbral energy leaking in from Norvrandt turned it into a Calamity; if weâre counting after that it wins by far).
Depends on which version of the blight youâre using in this scenario . There are several strains, some far stronger than others, some super weak
So I been thinking about the RP for my character lately. Even though heâs a Lightbound/forged Half Orc. I was thinking of going a pagan/nature god route with his light worship to explain why he can tame normal and spirit animals.
I just donât know how to do it to make it make sense
He could be from the Shadowmoon tribe.
Good idea. Iâll definitely consider it
I remember struggling so much to get into GoT. It wasnât until I heard rumors about the Red Wedding that I finally forced myself to watch it just so I could fully comprehend the context of that scene. By then I had fallen in love with the Starks and their wolves, so I watched the rest of the show for them only.
It seems like itâs going to be the same with HoD, cause that first episode felt so uninspiring. Only interesting bit was seeing that the writers were willing to depict a woman in labor not being particularly interested in dying horribly for the baby inside her. Which is a very understandable reaction to that situation. I just canât tell if the writers were intending to make an allusion to the issues of body autonomy, and a womanâs right to choose, or if it was just there for the shock factor like half the stuff in that episode.
Based on the history of GoT (and GRRMâs writing in general) I think it was there for shock value⌠or at least to depict how brutal that universe is for women. The books are rife with horrific crimes against women which are outlined in great detail. (That isnât to say itâs not also rife with violence against men as well, perhaps itâs just more jarring to me read about assault in such a casual way because Iâm a woman? IDK.)
I know Cersei was awful for most people in the main series, but I understood where she was coming from pretty much 100% of the time. Westeros is a terrible place to be female, regardless of status.
For House of Dragons, I will just say that I adore Matt Smith. He made the episode enjoyable to watch
I went in not expecting much at all and I didnât really watch previews or spoilers because the end of GoT was just SO disappointing I didnât want to hype myself up for something that may be lame, but when I saw him as Daemon I was like âOoooo yeeeeeeee!â
Although I already know the story for HoD, I think itâll be enjoyable if only for his characterization for sure.
I had no interest in Game of Thrones until just about the end. I figured it was over hyped pop culture BS. But one day, I was at a friendâs place, and I randomly saw the fight between Brianne and the Hound in the background. I was like âhey , thats a pretty good fight scene,â and I learned it was from Game of Thrones. So I thought I would give the series a try.
I ended up liking it. I binged the whole thing and was caught up right in time for the last season. And⌠it certainly was a season in the series.
Probably mostly for the shock with a dash of the autonomy. But it certainly was timely.
