Well hope you have fun in your adventures in ESO. I used to play few years back. I now understand recently that they announced their newest expansion. The Elder Scrolls Online | Elsweyr: The next chapter‎. Dragons in lore and newest class Necromancer. This should prove interesting. TBH, I would return if they implent flying with the Dragons. LoL

Not necessarily an underground expansion, but I think it’d make an interesting raid and/or new zone where we have to get to their forge and do something about it.

It’d be perfect for a “relaxed” expansion that has us cleaning up smaller threats instead of fighting the next end of the world.

Actually, the islands have opened up a bunch of new possibilities on that front. Necromancers, elementals, black and twilight dragons, the Bloodwake are an entire fleet of vrykul raiders with ships possibly numbering in the thousands…

8.5.1 Survival guide video is out. They proudly declare that in a FUTURE PATCH SOMEDAY BUT NOT JAN 22 Zandi and KT will be playable.

Pretty exciting time gating announcement if I do say so myself.

Well…yeah? Not sure who you’re referring to, as the Stormcloaks aren’t peaceful, but Tullius doesn’t want Skyrim to secede at all, peacefully or no.

Skyrim hasn’t done it before, though. Not alone, and not with the recent heavy anti-magic sentiments that’ll handicap them in a conflict unless they abandon them completely.

To fight the Dominion Skyrim has to march its armies through Cyrodiil to a heavily guarded border who will almost certainly know they’re coming, or send a naval force all the way around the continent. And mind you there has never been a successful naval invasion of Summerset alone, let alone Summerset/Valenwood/Elsweyr combined.

As for the Great War, it says the main army was destroyed, implying there were others still there, not to mention we have no idea what numbers they had in reserve, though apparently enough to stay in Hammerfell for 5 more years, though admittedly they didn’t accomplish a lot. Meanwhile the Empire was basically exhausted just from taking back its capital city.

"Although victorious, the Imperial armies were in no shape to continue the war. The entire remaining Imperial force was gathered in Cyrodiil, exhausted and decimated by the Battle of the Red Ring. Not a single legion had more than half its soldiers fit for duty. Two legions had been effectively annihilated, not counting the loss of the Eighth during the retreat from the Imperial City the previous year. "

At the end of the day while the goals and ideals your average rank-and-file Stormcloak are sympathetic, if the end goal is toppling the Thalmor, Skyrim stands no chance alone.

No it doesn’t. It can sail to Summerset. It can march through Hammerfell and aid them in retaking their land.

This would be a very solid argument if the entire Aldmeri Dominion hadn’t just experienced the biggest military setback in an era.

Also Valenwood is only with the Dominion because they’re being blackmailed with their own lives. The bosmer that the blades agent sends you to meet tells you about this.

If the Stormcloaks were to help the Bosmer, that’s one third of the Dominion’s forces gone.

The Great War states that they sent their forces to Cyrodiil as a feint, but when they noticed how successful it was, they diverted all invasionary forces to Cyrodiil.

The entire invasionary force in Cyrodiil was killed at the Battle of Red Ring.

True. But the Real Barenziah confirms that elves reproduce not only more slowly, but in slower numbers. Humans have the reproductive capability to replenish their army long before the high elves and wood elves do. Never-you-mind that training master wizards takes lifetimes.

I will grant you that the Khajiiti are a legitimate threat. I won’t grant you that it would mean much if the Nords travel through Hammerfall, help the Redguards kill the elves who are still there, and gain an ally in the doing.

Retake it from what? Dominions been out of Hammerfell for decades. On one hand this is good for Hammerfell, but it means Skyrim won’t be able to save them and use it as a bargaining chip. Even then they still have to launch a naval invasion, which is not a great idea against Summerset.

Which one are you referring to? The Great War, which they arguably won, or Hammerfell, which they lost but we have no real numbers on how badly that effected their ability to defend themselves.

All Malborn tells you is that there’s purges. We have no idea how common they are, if they’re done openly or covertly, whether the general populace knows or cares, etc. Valenwoods government has been pro-Dominion since the Dominion existed, to say they secretly all hate them is an assumption I don’t know if we can make. There might be a decent sized rebellion, there might not be. Even if its true, its still a pretty big task to invade Valenwood on its own.

Again, calling it the “main army in Cyrodiil” implies its the biggest but not the only one. They were definitely focusing on invading Cyrodiil, but theres a lot of Cyrodiil outside of the Imperial City. We know they held Anvil, for example, and thats about as far away from Imperial City as you can get.

Yeah and thats the Empires plan. But you still need time to do that, if you’re replenishing numbers at the same time you’re losing them in a war its kind of pointless.

This is definitely the most plausible way for an independent Skyrim to achieve victory. But its a somewhat iffy proposition for a few reasons

  • Skyrim and Hammerfell have never gotten along great, and with the nationalist Stormcloaks in charge of Skyrim, an alliance seems unlikely.
  • Hammerfell itself is heavily damaged from the war still. Skyrim is damaging itself in a Civil War (most of the imperial forces are local, and even Ulfric in Sovngarde laments he may have weakened the province). For all the losses the elves had, none of them were on their home turf.
  • Hammerfell solves the navy issue but doesn’t like magic much either, which doesn’t really solve the “fighting the greatest magical power in the world” problem.

It’s still definitely possible, though. Enemy of my enemy and all. But would a Skyrim-Hammerfell alliance have a better chance than say, a Skyrim-High Rock-Cyrodiil-maybe Hammerfell alliance? I can’t see it. If a province is part of the Empire they have to fight. If not, you’re relying on Ulfric to form diplomatic relations, and he’s the last guy you want doing that.

Would any of you say that Darksiders 3 got the colors associated with the 7 Deadly Sins right? I find them quite accurate.

Envy is obviously Yellow-Green, Wrath is Fiery Orange, Sloth is a Sickly-Yellow, Gluttony is Glowing Turquoise-Green, Lust is Brown, Avarice is Golden and Pride is Blue. Do you find those colors accurate to the 7 Deadly Sins?

I was under the impression that they were still there. Didn’t know about the treaty of Stros M’kai. Still, Nords and the Redguards could team up.

They lost. Every Dominion invader in the imperial City was killed to a man.

This is factually untrue. Not even the High Elves have been pro-dominion since the Dominion existed. It took the Oblivion crisis for the Aldmeri Dominion to root out control of Summerset.

It’s been thirty years. And we already know the Elder Council is bought and paid for by the Thalmor.

Just because Tullius wants to defeat the Dominion doesn’t mean that the Elder Council does. They’re intentionally sitting on their thumbs, giving the elves all the time they need.

“Time was your ally, human. But now it has abandoned you. The Dominion has returned.”

That is really cool. I hope it does go somewhere.

The Empire lost an entire province and might lose a second due to being forced to outlaw Talos worship. Thalmor agents are given free reign to wander through Imperial territory and kidnap, torture, and kill people for worshiping a god. Cyrodiil was ravaged and the Blades were all but wiped out.

Sure, the Dominion didn’t win. But they certainly came out of it better than the Empire did.

You are mixing up the Thalmor and the Dominion. The Thalmor existed before hand, but the Third Dominion was not formed until Valenwood joined up with Summerset after a coup. The Great War says this explicitly, and doesn’t mention any notable changes in loyalty in the 150~ years since.

Do we? We know of one Council member post Great War, and not much about him besides he wants to kill the Emperor who signed the concordat in the first place.

It’s not like the Stormcloaks are going to attack the Dominion right away either, they need to rebuild their army, rebuild Skyrim first, and they say as much. No matter whos fighting it, the war is going to have to wait a while.

So I asked in GD and couldn’t figure it out, maybe asking here is a better choice.

What is the ‘lore’ behind Kul’tiran Shaman?

I can understand Priests being Tidesages but Shaman doesn’t make sense as far as I know the lore of the people to be.

Am I missing something?

The Tidesages hear the voice of the water, described in some scrolls you can find scattered throughout the zone. They also have some lightning spells like when Pike blows up a ship in Stormsong Valley questing. They’re much closer to shamans than priests, the only hangup is they use cloth instead of mail.

Ehhh I think the Imperial legion kinda stinks. Even when I’ve played as an Argonian, I picked Stormcloaks since the Thalmor pretty much has the empire on a leash, and they wanna ban Talos worship. Like what the heck man, he’s a dragonborn GOD and I’m a dragon born LIZARD, Talos was meant for my character. Oh and the empire tries to kill execute you for “reasons” as apart of the intro. So there’s that.

That’s not to say I let the racism stuff pass in Windhelm though, always punch the crap outta that Rolff jerk when I enter the city. This pretty much summarizes how our first meeting went (as a lizard tho):

Ralof is a bro so I know that not every Stormcloak discriminates against the reptiles. I like to think that liberating Skyrim, my lizard along with a few of my followers who can represent the citizens of Windhelm (first ones I usually pickup are Jenassa, Erik, and Derkeethus anyways) convinces Ulfric to end segregation between the Nords, Dunmer, & Argonians, and he also improves the condition of the Grey Quarter. It could be like the Ebonheart Pact in ESO again ! :stuck_out_tongue: (I forget how long the mmo takes place before Skyrim).

Oh, totally. I was harsh originally but its hard to blame the Stormcloaks for doing what they’re doing. From their perspective, its hard to imagine how you wouldn’t rebel against a government thats letting the Thalmor do what they do. Geopolitical implications be damned, they’re kidnapping people from their homes.

I just really, really, really hate their leadership for a dozen different reasons. Kinda kills the whole thing for me.

I would have put Lust as Purple, not Brown. Could probably argue Crimson for Pride, but Blue works fine.

The Elements seemingly reached out and taught the original Gilnean immigrants (that became Kul Tirans) the art of Shamanism. So they work like normal shamans, using spirit to guide the elements and magic.

There’s vaguely some faith about a sea mother or something, but it is kind of unclear.

What are some strategy games I can get into if I played SC and Advanced Wars?

Fire Emblem games are, generally speaking, rather fun.
Final Fantasy Tactics.
XCOM Series.

Total War games, generally, are fun. I was talking about Total War: Warhammer 2, but I played the first and it was rather enjoyable.

Thought about TW. Read if you buy 1 and 2, you get a bonus campaign. Is it easy to learn?
