Someone please bump the lawsuit thread, in case I need to post there again.

See, I thought it was about shale oil. Crimea has Europeā€™s majority of shale oil and Russia wants to corner the European oil market to sell to USA.

USA is currently in a trade war with Canada over shale oil and was backing Russian oil as a bargaining chip. Thatā€™s why Trump backed Putin for the last 4 years and why the GOP seems to be in bed with Russia. Russia has a pipline under the Baltic sea, and the EU will not let Putin turn it on, he invaded Ukraine as a bargaining chip for negotiations.

Itā€™s always about oil. Every war fought on this planet is over non rewewable resources and power over those resources. War is predictable.

No I live in Vegas, been here 30 years or so. Born in Cali.

I was referring to when Trump was initially praising Putin. He was saying to his audience, imagine that army at the US southern border in the guise of ā€œpeacekeepingā€ in Mexico.

Oh I see mb.

Vegas is good. My grandparents were dual citizens who lived in Vancouver and California. We visited Vegas a lot. Palm Desert CA was a second home to us. Nevada is beautiful.

Oil isnā€™t as big a part of it as some people think. Russia is already good on oil and they recently renewed a contract to sell more of it to China, with plans to make an existing pipeline in Mongolia larger. Trumps backing of Russia was his way of diplomacy in hopes of preventing something like this. The smart thing for Putin to have done was bargain with the global community to get gains and just threaten to invade Ukraine instead of actually do it, but he invaded and it backfired in the biggest way possible. Now Russia is becoming an oil slave to China and will have to rely on them for nearly everything.

Having oil and still fighting for oil is a huge deal. USA has the biggest stockpile of oil reserves in NA and yet they are still fighting Canada over more control of our shale oil production. USA wants to be an oil superpower. The thought that Canada may become the richest North American country was enough for USA to threaten to pull themselves out if the North American Free Trade Agreement. The anti NAFTA rhetoric of the past four years was over oil. My country bought our pipeline to save it from American oil barons. It wasnā€™t a popular decision here, but it had to be done to save our economy and secure our oil.

The EU buys itā€™s oil from Canada as of 2020 when USA threatened to pull out of NAFTAā€¦ thatā€™s important when looking at how the EU will support Ukraine against Russia. And the Anti-EU rhetoric coming from the US and Russia.

My victory was inevitable. Staff meeting was today, and while my boss tried to draw things out, everyone knew who was getting that $25 gift card for Starbucks. Nobody else got stabbed in the arm with a fork (it sounds worse than it is). Nobody else even came close!!

My pain meds might make me feel dizzy and nauseous, and they make it hard to sleep, but now I have delicious coffee to help keep my loopy butt alert and awake!!

You got stabbed with a fork and all they gave you was $25?! You need to sue somebody.

Ok. I realize the story sounds bad and the reality of it is more entertaining, so Iā€™mā€™as tell it.

I work at a medical respite for the homeless. Most of my clients have some pretty bad disabilities; a paraplegic woman, a man learning how to walk after being left nearly paralyzed, a man whose mental health issues make it impossible for him to live independently, people like that.

One client is legally blind and suffering from dementia, and is unmedicated for her bipolar condition, leading to frequent manic episodes. Itā€™s a rough trifecta to have, but sheā€™s still the sweetest thing in life.

I was sitting with her during meal time, just chatting away about some TV show she was very excited about. She had forgotten that sheā€™d already finished her Salisbury steak, forgotten where it had even been on the table, but was pretty sure it was (Iā€™m using her words here) ā€œthat brown color thing right thereā€.

It was not her food.

It was my arm.

She shoved that fork in, expecting to spear her food and lift the whole thing to her mouth. And confusing the issue more for her in the moment, I wasnā€™t screaming or anything. As I was holding back a list of profanities from the sudden blast of pain, she was trying to tug what she thought was her food from what she thought was a plate. But as soon as she felt resistance, she sort of pieced it togetherā€¦ Sort of.

ā€œMiss (Alynsa), I think I just stabbed your book!!!ā€

ā€œNope!! Arm!!! My arm!!!ā€

She got it in pretty deep too. I tried to pull it out on instinct and it was not budging. The two people I was working with must have heard something (Iā€™mā€™a ask them tomorrow when weā€™re all on again) because they both came running down the hallway. And me, being such a good supervisor, fork still in my arm and everything, turned to them both with a stern face.

ā€œGuys!! No running!! We have people in wheelchairs!! You need to be more careful unless itā€™s an emergency!!ā€

And then I realized oh, they were running for me!!

But proper proceedures must be maintained, and I will follow them regardless of common sense. I knew an incident report needed to be filed, so as one coworker is calling an ambulance for me, Iā€™m filling out the report while holding a bandage to my forked arm. And then taking a picture of it to send to my boss.

Not because my boss needed me to send a picture, but because I knew seeing it would make her queazy. And she wouldnā€™t ask why I left shift early. Iā€™m very dutiful like that.

From there, the expected happened. Trip to the ER, nothing super critical, some pain and lots of jokes like ā€œI cannot carry that, my arm is all forked up.ā€ ā€œDonā€™t fork with (Clientā€™s name), sheā€™ll do you like youā€™re a Salisbury steak!!ā€

This triggered me  this is what I do all day for work. I would be the one contacting legal and claims.

Your jokes are amazing. 10/10 Iā€™d be your work wife.

An interesting idea. Of course I would prefer to assume that the Metal Skull serving as Abaddonā€™s topknot made him a vessel for a Cā€™tan Shard.

Same for the Emperorā€™s Metal Eye after being interred on the Golden Throne. Him not having a Metal Eye could suggest later possession by Cā€™tan though what the Emperor was during the Horus Heresy Era is unknown though I would hope he was the Dragon Emperor of Warhammer Fantasy explaining his dislike of Gods.

Of course Abaddon blaming his Golden Eyes on the Astronomican is Canon Lore yet can easily serve as an explanation to anyone suspecting him of being the Emperor without revealing exactly what the Emperor himself is!

Imagine Guilliman confronting Abaddon right while Cypher is walking into the Golden Throne Room. The Emperor immediately focuses on Cypher and Abaddon is the one speaking like a splintered fraction to Guilliman tipping him off to something being not quite right.

Guilliman using the same ability he used on the Tyranids dives into the raving Abaddon and uncovers the Emperor making coherent statements to Cypher and immediately figures out that Abaddon is a vessel for the Emperor before being driven out!

Chaos also figures out the Emperorā€™s possession of Abaddon and taunts the Emperorā€™s Host for it and for starting a war with his Ecclesiarchy while oblivious to the true nature of the Emperor and the true scope of his schemes.

When I saw what you sent me, I felt a rush of emotion. Iā€™ve been filling the lounge with my depression, without even talking about whatā€™s been bothering me, and a stranger decided to send me something valuable in game. I did not open it, and Iā€™m still debating on whether to send it back. You didnā€™t have to do that, man.

Of course I didnā€™t have to, but I wanted to. If it helped make you feel even the least bit better then it was worth it.

What it made me feel was guilty, thatā€™s what Iā€™m going to say. I felt guilty about using this place the way I used it, and that it convinced you to send me something. Iā€™m confliced and debating whether to send it back, like I said.

A bunch of people on the EU forums and on here are asking for Blizzard to block Russia from playing WoW. People in Iran and annexed Crimea are already blocked from playing this game, due to U.S. sanctions. While relatively minor compared to other ways their citizens are impacted, I donā€™t think they should lose potential entertainment over this.

Donā€™t feel guilty. Youā€™re allowed to have a bad time for whatever reason and say something. If you ever said anything that people didnā€™t want to hear someone would tell you. No one here is exactly afraid of speaking their mind.

Either way, if you donā€™t want to keep it I understand. Sometimes weā€™re just not in a good headspace for good intentions from other people.
