It reminds me of all the weird sexual explicit messages I used to get and sometimes still do get from other guys in game.
I use a female model in game and rp them as feminine males, because that’s just what I’m most comfortable rping. It’s honestly shocking how hostile other men can be when they think there is a certain…expectation just because of the type of char I play and type of person I am in general.
I was honestly depressed for a long time over it and now I hyper ventilate when people message me. I honestly hate it, it freaks me out now, even if people compliment me, I expect the worse to come now.
Angers me how toxic this community can be at times

I watched a couple Asmongold videos where him and his followers basically shame ERP’ers on Moonguard. And that made me so angry. They targetted this one girl. There’s nothing wrong with what she was doing, she was consenting to it, there was mutual expectation and Asmond treated her like she was the problem.
No, the real problem in the ERP community is people who don’t respect consent.

You be suprised how many people just….expect or outright demand things on a RP server. If I’m being flirty or extra friendly with someone, guy or girl, it just means we’ve known each long enough that I’m comfortable around said person. It doesn’t mean I’m looking to take it further.
I’ve lost count how many times people have tried to coerce me into uncomfortable situations. It got so bad once, that I would have panic attacks just thinking of playing my draenei again.(One episode was soo bad I took a few weeks vacation from the game).
I can empathize with people who’ve been abused in game, except me being a guy, when I say it’s happened to me, most people brush it off or think I’m lying.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a guy, abuse is abuse and I really wish Blizzard would get better about dealing with it. I’ve heard stories about people being harassed over months to years with nothing being done because they didn’t do something in a specific order when reporting it.

Blizzard’s moderation is pathetic. The forums are proof of that. A guy who tried to deflect blame from the lawsuit’s allegations by saying that women use their sexuality to abuse their power against men is still posting to this day. A guy who insulted my mental health over a disagreement and got about 20 upvotes is also still posting, and their post didn’t get removed because the degenerate community didn’t flag it, or the mods think it’s okay.

I saw a fanart posted on Wow reddit in BFA that was Surfang and Sylvanas in that Gurean style. It made the main page. He was standing on a heap of dead Alliance bodies and she was naked at his feet under his submission…
…and this made the front page of r/wow two years ago. This entire game’s fanbase is messed up.
I wish I could say this is a lie but that’s when I stopped going on r/wow

Some dude’s interpretation of Keristrasza’s story was “Lose a consort. Gain a consort. Eye for an eye.” Basically, she deserved it. Luckily, that got no upvotes.

I feel like you can’t fix gross gamers but you can have better moderation and Blizzard should strive to meet that goal at the very least.
The bare minimum at this point is an overhaul in forum moderation.

I am not a fan of over moderation. I think a year or so ago, the Mods were too heavy handed and blatantly weighing in by treating those who disagree with them unfairly, while letting their acolytes have free reign. That was a rough time to be a Forum Goer.
The Forums have swung the opposite way, lately, and I prefer a little wiggle room.
The Moderation needs an overhaul, but I don’t think “more” of it is the answer. I think some of the worst stuff is removed.
I am not offended much. People throw all sorts of shade my way, and I don’t report it. So it likely never gets Forum Action, unless other people are offended enough to report it. The only thing I report is Spam Advertisements of Streamers.
I know others flag any post they disagree with and just hope something sticks out to the Mods.

That streamer has little respect for RPers and casuals in general. His Project 60 fans harassed RPers as well.
