Gotta say that Dahmer show is actually pretty solid.
I do like how it actually follows the victim’s stories and shows how an incompetent justice system tinged with racism and homophobia allowed for a vicious animal to prowl the streets despite having more than a few outright tell them something was decidedly not right at the Dahmer residence.
I’ve a distaste for true crime as I think many of them play fast and loose with real tragedies. I positively adore horror. Slasher movies, gore, masked killers in the night, that whole shtick. But I like it when it’s pretend. Trying to turn the actual waking nightmares suffered by very real flesh and blood human beings into ghost stories pisses me off.
But this actually seems to make an attempt to be tasteful. How successful it succeeds in doing so isn’t my place to say but I at least didn’t get the bad taste in my mouth I usually get with these.
