Thalyssra herself frankly came off as a lot less offended than the players who practically insist that Tyrande’s stated skepticism was tantamount to a declared intent to exterminate every last Nightborne.
Her joining the Horde - like most Allied races - was just one of numerous cases where peoples who have no business joining either faction arbitrarily decided the best time to do that very thing was when they’d immediately be expected to die in large numbers fighting a war from which they’ll gain nothing, against an enemy who did nothing to them.
As would I, it would be better than his people fading into forgotten irrelevancy. And this is an Azshara expansion, after all, so his reappearance would be very interesting.
I also concur that Tyrande has many character flaws, but I do think she gets far too much hate and blame sometimes. Thalyssra is not as perfect or ideal a character as some people think either.
The Alliance and Night Elves were the natural choice and she was skeptical of the Horde. Until Tyrande spoke.
She got declined from her first choice and went to the next. If there are two potential suitors, and one turns you away, well, your choice is made for you.
Be they colleges, jobs, life-partners, or coalition groups of military powers.
Maybe you need a mallet to understand something so subtle… but Tyrande knew what she was saying, and Thalyssra understood. As did Liadrin when she heard about it.
I won’t blame Blizzard because of the lack of understanding amongst their fans.
I know many people on both Factions feel Blizzard should have made Tyrande scream and yell and pull her hair out and make fun of Thalyssra’s momma… but a subtle lore based brush off worked fine for most sensible players.
I mean, if people want to read into something for confirmation bias, that’s their prerogative. I think Blizzard did fine with their presentation and some people broke out their conspiracy theory charts, looking at the stars, hoping to glean things that weren’t there. Thankfully most sensible players didn’t seem to take it that far.
Though it would be cool, I wouldn’t put too much weight on it. Though I haven’t seen it, I’ve heard the Horde’s Northrend portal is held open by Undead Argent members.
I believe it’s similar to what Reignac said. Likely the location for the portal came first, then the ones who held it open for flavor.
Not lore, but something that annoys me about the new portal rooms that they removed MANY portals from around the world in the same patch. The portal rooms don’t have nearly as many or as useful ones. Is there a limit on the amount of portals the WOW engine can handle or what?
That wouldn’t be the lack of comprehension being contagious then. That would be the disease. To think you can’t even acknowledge the difference between a disease and lack of comprehension, astounding.
You fear for diseases. You fear for my dates. You seem to be a very fearful person. I wish Blizzard fans were less anxious.
Yes. I can’t distinguish your ailment over the forums. I would be an online psychic if I could do that with any accuracy.
What ever you have that causes your lack of comprehension, I don’t want it.
It is a fearsome sight to behold. Such heights of ignorance flagrantly displayed. You can not comprehend a declination, nor the effects of communicable diseases. That others near you might be effected is unfortunate.
Thankfully I need not fear catching it from the forums.
Well you can’t even distinguish an ailment and a state of being. Truly perplexing. It seems like you’ve got whatever ailment you are imagining since you can’t comprehend the difference.
Please, try and stop being so afraid. Adults should be able to deal with their fear in a reasonable manner instead of telling strangers ad nauseam.
Ailments cause changes in a state of being over time, and lead to severe states of being.
A communicable disease may be at it’s most severe state in one individual (you for this example), which causes your lack of comprehension. Then transferred to another, where it will cause a diminished mental state over time.
You are perplexed by the simplest things. No wonder you can not understand that Tyrande turned away the Nightborn.
Yes, but you did not state a fear, one of your many fears, over a virus or disease being contagious. But to the state of being itself being contagious. Perhaps you should be less concerned with disease and more focused on your preoccupying terrors.
Now, now. I wouldn’t call your situation simple.
I can understand why you want to read into the situation.
Good, we found something that doesn’t perplex you. You finally understand actual lore events back up my point. I like to follow the actual lore events. I am glad you understand.
Tyrande cut Thalyssra down and insulted the trustworthiness of her people. She flat out said she was only there to help, and come what may after that.
Afterwards, Thalyssra showed Liadrin what happened.
Liadrin pretty much said: “Yup. That’s the Tyrande I know. And her prideful lot.”
So, yes. Tyrande insulted the Nightborn and stated there is no trust or welcoming for them, beyond her immediate goals. Having been spurned, the Nightborn went to the Horde.
