Stormwind Knight

When you think of a Stormwind Knight. Do you think of a Paladin? Or a warrior? Also please explain why.

I want to play as a knight but warrior seems soo brutish with rage and fire and bloody sfx, stomping the ground and screaming… doesnt seem very knight-ish… More like a berserker. but I believe all knights in-game arent Paladins. Something in between? The lordliness of a paladin without the holy magic… Wish there was a way to be more like a Knight in WoW without using the light…

I think warrior tbh. Paladin guards seem more silver hand or blood knights tbh. :cloud_with_rain:

Definitely warrior

Us paladins are more elite than simply guarding the rowdy streets of stormwind :sunglasses:

Just play Protection

Warcraft III Footman.

I think Warrior mostly. But I guess more like a Battlemaster in DnD.

When I think of a Stormwind guard, I think warrior. Is a Stormwind knight the same as a guard? Knight sounds more paladin-like.

I think a knight would be more of a paladin due to the chivalrous nature associated with knights.

I don’t know what this is but i oppose it

They’d be simple Fighters. Warrior err on the Berserker theme. Paladins are Paladins.

Always pictured it as someone that defends Stormwind. Could any class.

Lol I can explain a little

" Those who emulate the archetypal Battle Master employ martial techniques passed down through generations. To a Battle Master, combat is an academic field, sometimes including subjects beyond battle such as weaponsmithing and calligraphy. Not every fighter absorbs the lessons of history, theory, and artistry that are reflected in the Battle Master archetype, but those who do are well-rounded fighters of great skill and knowledge."

Liam O Briens playing one in Critical Role at the moment and its dope because he roleplays the fights kinda more like he’s a ballet dancer rather than brute strength. ( Since ballet dancers are freaking SHREDDED )

I forgot to share the special maneuver options you can pick

I see paladin honestly. Especially with Anduin being all lighty-holier-than-thou and Turalyon who took his place being the same way. Just seems right that the knights would be holy-infused.

Battle-mage obviously. :snowflake: :fire: :purple_heart:Thunderfury:woman_mage::shield:

I think Knight is a social distinction rather than a warrior or paladin. I’m sure that there are warriors and paladins that are Knights though. That’s my head canon, for what it’s worth.

In Warcraft, Knights are heavily armored mounted warriors with greatswords. The Stormwind guard also has a variety of Knights fitting this description. They’d be more of a ‘warrior’ sort as their task is making sure Stormwind and Stormwind alone is secure as opposed to smiting the unholy.

Of course organizations like the Knights of the Silver Hand and the Argent Crusade have similar mounted fighters, although they’re certainly more on the Paladin side of things!

In regards to what you’re wanting to do, an Arms Warrior may be your best bet? That’s certainly less loud and angry than a Fury Warrior.

Arms and Prot Wars use heroic leap and and shouts and thunder clap and berserker rage and other berserker abilities as their main rotation which dont seem very chivalric. Knights dont just defend Stormwind, the lead the kings’ armies and campaigns throughout Azeroth. They were also the most powerful units used during the Battle for Stromgarde Warfront and Battle for the Undercity at the beginning of BfA

Though not specific to humans, all of the “guard” animations added in BFA seem to be built around polearms. And, disregarding any magic, polearms are some of the most effective defensive arms versus melee attackers.

So, for me, I’d go with Arms Warrior and transmog with either 7th Legionnaire’s Halberd, Stormwind Vanguard Polearm (aka Spear of the Hunt), or for more of a (massive) pole-axe: (alliance) Tyrannical Gladiator’s Decapitator or the upgraded Steelforged Greataxe.

Though we see most (all?) Stormwind guards in normal gameplay with a sword+shield, I think some type of polearm actually makes more sense for actually defensively guarding a city.

Knights are much more than the stormwind guards around stormwind (also most, if not all of those are basic footmen, not knights… They are the powerful leaders of the alliance’s military under the King. Elite cavalry with lances as well

You have to sit on a horse dual wielding a lance and a sword. Then you’ll be a knight.
