Am i the only one who thinks stormwind as a Kingdom is incredibly boring and really doesn’t have an interesting culture whatsoever other than being your atypical fantasy kingdom with a boring fantasy Paladin cult at the heart of it? I’ve always found Stromgarde to be about 100 times more interesting than stormwind because of its ancient heritage and how it has a warrior culture and some slight Scandinavian influences, Rather than Stormwind, Which to my knowledge is purely fantasy based and doesn’t have any Real life inspirations or even has a unique human culture like the other Human kingdoms do. I just can’t help but find stormwind a stagnant and boring kingdom with no interesting lore to it.
Yes. Stormwind is the most generic human kingdom.
I always dreamed to see Stromgarde restored. My favorite human kingdom.
It is because it’s the most base generic medieval theme of them all, filled with ‘goodie twoshoes’ whiteknight paladins wearing generic armour, with generic storylines and blue/white/gold EVERYWHERE
Stormwind is the mayonnaise sandwich version of a city. So boring.
One of the main reasons I went Horde.
I get that, But orgrimmar is 100x worse. Feel like i’m in the stone age. If only every city could be as a Magnificent as Silvermoon…
Maybe we’ll burn down storm wind next & y’all can get Gilneas instead.
Seems unlikely, Since your faction won’t exist by the end of the expansion.
Then every city would be the same and Silvermoon wouldn’t feel special.
Part of the problem with Orgrimmar is that it was made in vanilla. Blizzard updated it but it couldn’t change too much. I wonder how it would look if it was made from scratch today, like Suramar, Boralus or Atal’dazar.
Suramar was awful, It looked nice but it was just such a horror to navigate. Atal’dazar has a similar problem, Boralus being the only logically designed layout of recent that also looks aesthetically pleasing.
Ironforge was the best blue-city in pre-cata for a reason.
I haven’t had a problem navigating Suramar or Dazar’alor.
i agree, i hate Suramar.
Boralus is the best city in the game. it is the only city that really feels like a city to me
Ironforge was popular for 2 reasons, the AH and the short flight down to Searing Gorge.
I did love it though, still think its the best Alliance city. I wouldn’t mind if after they blight SW they add all the portals and conveniences there so we can start using it again.
i really doubt anything permanent will happen to stormwind, unless something happens to orgrimmar to wipe it off the map as well, blizzard is stubborn about capital parity
You mean that abomination we got in the warfront?
Really?!
The WoD garrison has more charm.
people complain about SW but at least it has actual streets and working plumbing. Org has dirt roads and metal spikes all over the place. I say Orgrimmar is the most boring. Id take white marble and stone over dirt brown any day.
I liked it. It was very rustic and humble.
I’m feeling like this concept is pretty much out the window with BFA. Blizz plans several xpacs in advance, if they feel like the “end” is within sight I don’t think things like faction parity really matter to them anymore.
It would be a lot more interesting if Anduin was like Joffrey Baratheon.
Its 70% massive thick walls. 20% large open spaces and roads and 10% actual buildings which are just WoD garrison buildings.
Its one of the most poorly designed wow settlements in history.
