Stormwind will be repossessed by goblins soon. You see, House Wrynn never paid the workers who rebuilt stormwind, they later became the defias. However, goblins were obviously involved in the contract since Goblins were also a significant part of the Defias. Which ever Goblin cartel was involved could legally take ownership of Stormwind and kick its human inhabitants out.
Not paying your bills is a great way to become homeless.
There is evidence for it being canon. There is no way goblins would be so involved in the Defias without having been involved in the original contract as well. Its goblin nature.
I don’t know about that one, we have a gobbo as second in command of the si:7 but he has no cartel. Goblin involvement doesn’t always mean cartel involvement. Sometimes it’s just a lone few gobbo striking out on their own.
What did his dad do again? Try really hard to resolve an issue a black dragon with mind bending powers coaxed to fruition by Palpatining her very own Evil Rich People Club into hosing over the working class? Get kidnapped? Be forced into slavery by Thrall’s anti-slavery Horde?
Sent assassins after him. Jaina lectured him about it. Left the people of westfall starving and drove them into the revived defias lead by the murdered leader’s daughter.
Ah, I see you’re not in support of George Washington’s actions at the Farmers Rebellion then.
They killed Varian’s wife and caused civil unrest while Stormwind’s hands were tied. It sucks but they reaped what they sowed. Shame we’ll never get an expansion focusing on internal politics and efforts for reparations while Blizz is so hyper fixated on how much land Sylvanas thinks she deserves to blight and/or control. I’d really love for Anduin to get to actually lead his people and help resolve their issues instead of play the part of supporting cast in the Saurfang and Sylvanas Hour: Battle for the Heart of the Horde.
You realize that Varian offered to pay the Stonemasons the original agreed upon amount out of his own pocket, after house of nobles refused to pay due to Onixya influence. Onixya however also convinced the Stonemasons to demand an unreasonable amount more after that offer was made and then riot when Varian advised he couldn’t afford it. They ended up kill queen Tiffin during that riot which ended any negotiation.
I’m just gonna say it: I miss Varian. Especially before Anduin got his grubby little hands on him. I know he was very human potential at times–and a singular leader was a mistake–but he was actually willing to fight The Horde (and, God forbid, even hold them accountable for stuff) without it being framed as emotional hysteria–but rather, valid experience.
Alas, he got Anduined. Then he got Gul’daned–which was only slightly more violently destructive for his character.
His mistrust and genuine grievances could have even lead us into a faction war that wasn’t just zombies blighting infants and puppies. I highly doubt he ever would have claimed pressing military advantage after slaying an enemy leader would make us “as bad as the banshee”. Who wrote that? Imagine having two sides whose position was relatable, instead of zero. Or just one leader who’s dependable.
So his solution to his people rioting was to banish them, then his solution to bandits was to kill all of them. No pardon for being manipulated by dragons. Just tough luck.
LOL so misinformed, one they didn’t know she was a dragon. Two Varian slipped into massive depression after his wife died and it was Onixya who exiled them after she took over.
And how would they enforce it if the Alliance disagreed with this supposed repo? Apart from harshly worded missives.
I’m largely certain both Alliance and Horde would love to stop having a “what does it mean to be Horde” plotline. Especially since they always come at the cost of major Alliance land losses and casualties, and major Horde character deaths. Nobody feels good, especially when the story is just a copypaste.
