Stormwind Exploiting

Good day, normally I don’t use forums, but I was fed up with this issue. I am submitting this under Customer Support, though, I am not too sure if this also goes under “Bug Report.”

A few players who I noticed were exploiting an in-game issue that has yet to be fixed. Over the past week, a group of Horde players were exploiting the ground/walls of Stormwind City to aid in their use of World PvP. These players are using this glitch by using an in-game cushion to sneak their characters in. Me, and other players, are unable to stop/attack/kill these Horde players.

These players are:

I edited this out from the original text that I sent to Blizzard, because I was unaware I couldn’t use names in forums, thanks for the heads up!

The screenshots that I provided Hacks@Blizzard.com with, show them ‘right’ in the buildings, or that they are underground, buildings that are not accessible in Stormwind City. Not only that, they also use resurrections in order to stay alive and get themselves in the fight quicker. Once they start to lose, they will instantly retreat in these walls and buildings, and will remain there until their healers are safe.

On an RP realm, this is very immersive breaking, as an PvPer, this is truly unfair. They are taking advantage of either the cushion toy, or Stormwind for their own gain, and there’s nothing we can do as we can’t kill them in combat.

These players also kill low-levels, and NPCs almost all day while behind these walls and underground, making it a very unfair situation to ones who wish to fight them in combat.

I have sent these screenshots to Hacks@Blizzard.com, but I am unsure how efficient emailing a report to Blizzard is, does it takes the same time as a ticket to be resolved? Will I get can email back.

This is very unfair, and should be punished or patched, because at one point it is trolling as they sprawl emotes at us through these walls. I reported these players MANY times in-game, but it seems to not work. I’m unsure if further proof is needed, but many players are also complaining about this, and agree to report them in-game with me.

Thank you, for a short verison as to why I posted this, I am looking for a few things:

Is Hacks @Blizzard.com the same wait time as tickets?

Will I get an email back?

Is this considered an exploit, or bannable?

Have a nice day.

2 things u did the right thing by reporting to the hacks email.

The other thing is the only one thats gona get introuble in this post is u for naming and shaming the players we never call out a player on the forums its considered harrassment no matter what the intentions are edit them out.

The other thing is is this isnt a means to report any hacks or exploits this wont get passed onto the developers. You also wont get a email back from the hacks odds are if ur aware of it there already aware of it.

I’m aware this isn’t a mean to report anything, so I sent a very, much larger detailed report with screenshots to Blizzard at that email. I mostly am curious as to IF, IF this was bannable, so I gave a quick run down.

I don’t know the line between hack and exploit, maybe this is a bug? Or something not considered hacking. Or is this situation warrant an email to Blizzard?

But why would u shout it so everyone could use the exploit trust me if a player has to exploit its a actionable offense u dont need to let everyone know it just saying.

Well, I am not exactly giving the details as how to how they manage to do this, this seems to be quite advanced for casual players, like me. I don’t even quite know fully how they manage to do this without falling through the ground.

I think it would be rather hard to utilize an advantage from this post.

  • I am unsure 100% how they do it.
  • Maybe it only works in a certain area, an area I never mentioned.
  • How would any player reading this know exactly how to use this POSSIBLE exploit without me giving the screenshots or exact info I gave to Blizzard?

No matter the RP realm, and whether they’re from the same realm or off-server folks who think that it’d be fun to rankle the nerds playing pretend (please note I’m from Moon Guard and am one of those nerds, so I’m not picking on the player type by any means) - it only breaks your immersion if you let it.

Since you’re posting on a character from Area 52, I can’t speak for which realm you’re dealing with this on but I know on Moon Guard we’ve got a handful of Horde regulars who like to come out and just do their thing. One or two of them actually do try and RP with folks, while others are there to just create chaos. After a while, you just turn off the local defense channel to kill off the alerts and you continue on with what you’re doing. There is a whole city and an entire world out there.

The exploit, Blizzard will take care of that after they investigate it. Nothing happens immediately. It may take days or even weeks before anything happens, and you’ll never know the outcome of your reports unless one of them starts crowing about something that happened to them. Blizzard will not e-mail you back. The hacks email is a one-way street.

But the immersion breaking? Just like any other troll who exists to drive us roleplayers nuts, ignore them and enjoy doing what you do. It only ruins your fun if you allow them to. People /yell about blowing things up across the city on a near-nightly basis, or any number of disruptive events take place, but you don’t have to recognize them any more than you have to recognize the Tauren rampaging through the tavern.

Of course too, like most trolls - if they’re ignored outright then it’s not much fun and they’ll figure out something else to do. But if people are interacting with them and participating in their nonsense, they’ll keep at it.

Hopefully there will be some sort of resolution for you guys and sooner rather than later, but yah. It sucks, but until the exploit is fixed and the players sanctioned or whatnot, don’t let them interfere with your enjoyment of the game.

I am posting this on a character that isn’t my main for private reasons, but an RP realm is my main realm.

However, I think the “breaking of immersion” is only a side issue here. I noted that I also attack these players in World PvP, so not just a roleplayer. Ignoring them then is quite hard, and they are borderline unkillable.

But thank you regardless for the clear response, so emailing Blizzard was the right move here? I gave them my Battlenet tag and account name in that email, so if this wasn’t an exploit, I thought I would get in trouble for a false claim then.

The terms “exploit” “bug” and “hack” are very broad to me, so I explained to get opinions if this was in-fact an exploit.

Oh you don’t owe me any explanations on that front! I was just pointing it out that I was only speaking for where I know somewhat of. I’m sorry if it seemed as though I needed to know. Heck, I rarely, if ever, RP on this gal but I certainly have my other “mains” that I prefer to keep separate from people who may not take too kindly to me here.

Absolutely! You said too that you right-clicked and reported them as well, those are the two paths to get the issue handled. One or the other would suffice, but you’re covering your bases by hitting both.

Cleaning up old posts!

Just make sure you’re properly reporting. I’ve seen a few get handled in my time.

I would also recommend mentioning in the “other comments” box when reporting to just mention that it’s an RP realm as those rules are different from normal servers. It’s been noted that there are times a GM doesn’t (or doesn’t know to) make that distinction unless pointed out.

Report, report and report again. It does work. It does not always stop fools from just renaming it the same thing all over again, but it just makes it all the sweeter when those same fools come raging/crying here when they find they’ve been suspended for a week after the forced rename didn’t work, nor the one-day suspension.

This also goes for inappropriate TRPs, should you come across them. Make use of the built-in report link button. We have seen those folks come here flabbergasted too when they’ve been suspended for an inappropriate profile.

Touching on this - absolutely right-click and report their chat too, with a note to explain that they’re bragging about an exploit you’ve been reporting on as well. Report them from any angle that you can. The more data Blizzard has, the better to help their investigations.

I alao noticed this, the players brag about it as well.

While I personally don’t have screenshots of them saying anything abusive, it is quite something to see they indeed have second accounts now bragging.

Like I said, me and others have reported in-game many times for a while now. Though, I feel like in-game reports do nothing, so I will wait to see what the email to Blizzard does, but I do feel as if in-game reports should have quick effects on cheaters, not ones who have been doing it for 6 months!

I think I’m actually seeing it right now. Cathedral district, large Tauren fellow (at least that is who it seems to be right now)?
