Hi all,
Stormur Vakten is recruiting new players as we build up to the new season and expansion. A bit about the Storm Guard:
Our focus is currently on chill RBGS and M+
- Usually people get on after 8pm Eastern – a few of us have young kids.
- Our set guild RBG night is Thursday right now.
- We also like to push some M+.
- We won’t ever get into raiding, but some of us run arenas from time to time.
- We like to win, obviously, but we’re not primarily focused on maxing our rating/rank.
We are a casual guild that takes our chill gaming environment seriously
- We think being good to other people makes you a better person and a better player.
- We’d much rather lose than listen to people lose their mind on someone for making a mistake in a video game.
- Toxic people are culled from our ranks with a swift perma-ban.
- Our leadership will keep a guild-wide “never-group list” to make sure that we don’t invite non-guild folks that are likely to ruin our chill vibes.
- We’re also fine with off-meta specs, RBG groups, etc. Getting rid of the sweaty ragequitters can open up quite a few fun experiments.
We do not require voice chat, ever.
- We have a guild Discord server for chill, cross-gaming community, but we use it for events and text channel chatting/planning – not voice chat coordination.
- We know voice chat is an advantage, but we don’t want to do voice chat with strangers, period.
- Our groups will use addons (e.g., BG Enemies, Call Targets), focus assists, and text to communicate the essential stuff.
- Our guild is built around some RL friends that have played together since early DAOC days. If you have a RL friend or crew, feel free to join us and stay in your own voice chat without us messing with your time to chill together.
We are particularly interested in old Dark Age of Camelot players
- drop a note in your in-game guild application if you have that sweet, sweet RvR nostalgia

- we have a viking war tribe theme that follows from our Midgard (DAOC) days.
- we have a pretty detailed leadership structure/set of rules.
- we keep a guild history to track our bouncing around various MMOs over time.
- we’re all NA based and English-speaking, but we’re scattered across a few time zones.
