Stormstrike should be some form of nature/phys damage similar to holystrike dam for paladins. Make it scale with our mastery and actually feel good to press. This alone would make Stormbringer Hero Talents in TWW wayyyyyy better imo. Am I alone in this?
Also pls give us customizable totems.

Stormstrike already is nature/physical damage in TWW, it’s just exclusive to the warrior Mountain Thane hero spec and not for shamans.

The damage type you’re asking for is in the game already and (believe it or not) is called stormstrike damage. People have been asking for the ability Stormstrike to do stormstrike damage for quite a while now.
For whatever reason Blizz refuses to do it.

History: blizzard moved stormstrike to 100% nature dmg in the BfA beta test. Enhance did bonkers dmg and had outrageous scaling due to mastery. They reverted it.
Ironically this rule does not seem to apply to ret paladins who have a similar mastery. Make of this what you will.

High quality post right here.
I think our damage was higher then rets currently is. Enhance scales really well with mastery resulting and very huge bursts with msw stacks. I think Stormstrike should do stormstrike damage, but it should be on the Stormbringer proc from their mastery or maybe they get one hit with that damage type right after spending msw stacks.

Make it do 50% physical/50% nature damage so it partially scales with mastery?
They’ve added other ways to get some amount of nature damage in w/talents. Stormbringer tree adds another.
But the base ability doing ALL physical damage makes it scale too poorly over the course of an xpac. Maybe if it did 50/50 nature/physical it would scale better w/o being too much. Of course, then 50% of stormstrike would lose the physical damage buffs…
Or maybe they could just make the talented nature damage amps to stromstrike bigger so it scales overall stormstrike damage more w/mastery.

Idk I just think its silly to not have our mastery incorporated into our big dam ability. Stormstrike pressing used to feel amazing. I want it to feel like im doing dam whenever I press it

I’m sorry sir/madam, this is Blizzard.
This is why elementalist enhance feels better. Gimme those big lava lash and ele blast hits.

I mean with current tier it def feels better. I have played enhance for a long time and I miss the days when pressing SS felt like I was doing big dam. I am trying to give input to make Enhance next xpac something awesome!
Another point Id like to make is why does Stormbringer not have any interaction with Lightning Shield or Lasso? So many cool interactions you can make.

What just about to reply to him with what you said in the other thread. I think that would be the way to go. Add some further single target power elementalist and a HUGE buff to Storm. IDK about AFTER spending MSW. For Storm it would be a buff for sure assuming that it would apply to Windstrike attacks during DRE, but it would be a smaller increase when outside of DRE since you’d only be spending once capped. Having it on Stormbringer procs would just overall increase the damage floor which would make it less miserable when you’re in a drought of DRE procs. Consistent damage vs harder burst.
It used to! Static shock (I think) gave a chance for lightning shield charges to hit the enemy after stormstrike…when we moved stormstrike to spamstrike that talent died. Sad times.

Interesting thought. I do miss when getting stormbringer procs meant meatier stormstrikes instead of only a reset. Would like if they brought back the 25% damage buff to it instead of the 25% of damage dealt as nature. Massive difference in calculations including the static % damage not scaling off anything, correct me if I am wrong.
Yeah I think it should be like what someone said above make it Stormstrike dam
It makes no sense that the ability called Stormstrike doesn’t do stormstrike damage, from a thematic and linguistic perspective anyway.
If scaling is the issue, numbers and mastery can always be tweaked. I don’t see why this should be a barrier.

You had me in the first half, tbh.
