I really feel like Tempest should just replace Lava Burst and be balanced to have the same functionality and replace flame shock with a thunder shock.
As it stands lava burst is already a red headed step child many hate and in stormbringer its even worse. I’ve maintained for years that we need a lightning spell to replace lava burst. Its been the bane of elemental since it was introduced in wrath. Its gotten better and its fun to use now at least but it isn’t lightning and elemental is THE only lightning caster in this game.
With storm hero talents 1/2 the tree is rendered pointless because we stop using all fire spells, we wind up just dropping extra wasted points in talents because why not. But if tempest replaced lavaburst and thunder shock replaced flame shock i really think elemental will have the perfect gameplay arc.
