Recently I done translation about Stormbringer talent and something came to my mind.
For Tempest, it’s cool, but for spell animation it could be better one.
As we know, Stormbringer combined two spec, Elemental and Enhancement. But whole talent design obviously lacks of concept about “enhancing”. So in my opinion, at least, Tempest spell animation shall be redesigned as “using lightning power to enhance weapon then shaman waves it to attack enemy”. Maybe Lightning whip? imagine what Dr.Strange did when he fights with Thanos.
Or when shaman casting Tempest, lightning power forms some weapon then fall it down to target’s head.
For example, Thunder Blade in Tales of Series
To shaman players, game visual presentation is also important and we do care about it. But since long time ago, our spell animation is NOT amazing enough, especially for enhancement.
It’s about time to make shaman great again!
Hope you guys take my suggestion
I agree, visual presentation is important and from what I’ve seen the tempest animation needs some work. Hopefully it’s just a work in progress and not the final visual.
I like you’re idea about the whip but I always thought something like that should be applied to Lava Lash, given the name. Of course that wouldn’t be relevant to Stormbringer but just my 2 cents.
Also, would be nice if Stormstrike actually did, you know, stormstrike damage. I’d like to see enhance’s main damage come from our most iconic spell rather than it just being a way to buff lightning bolt/tempest which ends up being our “real” damage.
One last word on visual presentation. Please update Ascendance once and for all. It’s way way way overdue.

Make tempest instant cast.
For enh it’s not gonna matter, but for elemental it would be great.

Get rid of tempest! Its worthless! Scrap stormbringer all together and try again!
These are both still bad, though.
Lightning Shield doesn’t proc on the things that actually hurt us in PvE, which is AoE damage, and even if it did, getting a DR after we take initial damage only helps us survive pulsing AoE, which is not where we most need the help.
And any defensive effect that triggers off casting Tempest is going to be lackluster unless its duration lasts long enough to overlap the frequency of Tempest casts, because otherwise we have to anticipate the damage event we need the reduction for far enough in advance to build up a Tempest before it happens, and then sit on the Tempest until just before it happens.
