-Losing Ride the Lightning hurts Stormbringer viability in PvP heavily as Enh does not cast Chain Lightning in PvP. Ideally this gets baked into Voltaic Surge in the Stormbringer tree ie " “Crash Lightning and Chain Lightning damage increased by 15%. Crash Lightning now causes your Stormstrike to cast Chain Lightning at your target for 8 seconds at x% reduced effectiveness.” Crash Lightning would then have interaction with both Stormbringer tree and Chain Lightning for PvP and PvE which would be fun and thematic.

-Stormbringer is very susceptible to Disarms in PvP. Disarm is up for every single Doom Winds and Ascendance, and Disarm does not DR with any other form of CC so it is 5 seconds every time it is pressed. Would like to see Disarm protection for Doom Winds especially with the new tier set in s2.

Longer explanation about Ride the Lightning and why losing it in PvP will hurt Stormbringer a lot:

Losing Ride the Lightning (PvP talent) is a pretty big hit to Stormbringer overall. We lose damage from the Chain Lightning casts and we lose Awakening Storms procs which means less Tempest casts and less Awakening Storms damage in general. It adds up to losing quite a bit of damage, and we also lose something thematic.

We do not cast Chain Lightning over Lightning bolt in PvP which is why Ride the Lightning was added in the first place. Now that we have Hero talents and with the removal of Ride the Lightning from PvP talents this is a great opportunity to give Crash Lightning interaction with Stormbringer and Chain Lightning by baking in Ride the Lightning a bit.

Right now on PTR pressing Crash Lightning feels exciting due to the new animation, but the gameplay of it is less than thrilling as it does the same thing twice essentially (aoe frontal damage). Having Crash also cause Stormstrike to cast Chain Lightning for a few seconds would be extremely thematic and fun while providing needed interaction between Crash and Stormbringer/Chain Lightning.

Lol ty, incoming paragraphs. They actually just buffed Stormbringer pretty nicely, Awakening storms by 20% and Tempest by 15%, tempest was already hitting for 3+ mil with the build I was using so this is pretty nice.

I do wanna say I think Stormbringer looks a lot better in 11.1 with some of the things they’ve done. Adding 10% physical damage increase to the nature wolf from pressing Tempest was so huge for us, in this patch we only get use out of it from like 1-2 lightning bolts (or more if we get resets) but now we can make use of the entire duration of that nature wolf. It buffs our damage both inside and outside of CDs. And even without ride the lightning I still get a lot of Tempest casts so its alright.

Also with the changes to elemental spirits, we don’t lose any physical damage by taking them like we do this patch. Now that frost witch is 15% at rank 1/2 can drop a point there to get Elemental spirits potentially giving you an extra 10-20% nature damage or 10 nature/10 frost, getting fire sucks but can use sundering if you do.

Voltaic blaze scaling with mastery is so huge, though I haven’t tested it since the proc chance was nerfed a bit last build but it was hitting for 900k-1.2mil for me in my build. Crash Lightning also does okay damage like 400-500k initial hit. Also having Arc Discharge stack to 2 means we never lose it like we do now. So I think overall we are looking at more damage outside of our CD windows which is great.

My main concern with Enh next patch is survivability now, losing AG is actually so bad when enh is already a pretty squishy melee esp into other melee. Losing 4-5mil healing on myself per round of shuffle, sometimes more. Bigdam and saul aren’t even using Earth shield anymore because its too many globals to reapply esp into purges for almost no gain, so idk. Need personal defensive compensation.
