So, what kind of animation would you like for Tempest? MoP Storm Blast or something more in line from primalists weâve seen this expansion?

I think they could go 2 ways, like you mentioned a MoP Storm Blast type design, hopefully with slight modern visual upgrade. I think it be good nostalgia with a modern look. (Hopefully a lot of other skills/Totems get the same modernisation too 
)

Something new, to be fair thereâs so many unique Lightning spells in this expansion alone, but I just hope when you press Tempest itâs gonna look and feel good. I want it to feel impactful, have that âOomphâ behind it.

Although I must admit I may be a little to overly excited about Stormbringer and most definitely need to lower my expectations.
The addition of those is what made Enhancement have its place in the meta for raid (+ WFT) and M+ for all of DF.
Also the whole argument that âwell itâs not build defining but they would need to rework/retune the whole build to remove itâ means it build defining. IF it wasnât build defining, then untalenting out of it would not have a severe impact on the damage profile and interactions of the build. Even in Season 1 and 2 when there wasnât a tier bonus that directly interacted with Pwave, playing elementalist and not talenting into Pwave might as well have been playing with half your gear on.
Is DRE and associated talents not build defining for Storm then by your definition?
Brother a lightning spell is one of the top 3 highest damaging ability in your damage profile. Also to break it down you have in the current single target build:
(Stormstrike) physical attack with lightning animation
(Flameshock & lava lash) a fire spell and and a fire attack
(Ice Strike & Frost Shock) 2 Ice abilities
(Lightning Bolt) A lighting bolt that in an interaction with another ability that shoots out 6 lightning bolts across the whole room.
(Pwave and Elemental Blasts) 2 Elemental bolts (aka all the elements)
In AoE you add:
-(Chain Lightning) Literally force lightning
-(Crash Lightning) You swing your weapon and literally hear the sound of thunder with lightning bolts hitting every target you hit.
Plus utility wise:
(Capacitor totem) A totem that explodes with lightning debilitating your foes
(Thunderstorm) You explode with lightning that either knocks everyone up in the air or sends your foes flying away from you.
Iâd say there is way more lightning fantasy in elementalist than you give credit for.
Yeah I remember when Thrall only used electrified weapon strikes against Garrosh in the fight cinematic and then said âI do not rely on strength alone Garrosh, my power is lightningâ and only used lightning bolts to kill him and literally nothing else.
Random thought, would be cool if sunder popped or ruptured flame on all targets affected by flame shock, would make the button pretty fun.
That is what I imagine for it yeah. I really want to main Totemic though, Depending on some things Iâll have to theory craft that can never be answered from datamining haha. But I suspect that Stormcaller will be too enticing to pass up. PW Tempests are going to be massive damage, prolly double what pwave LB currently is. The extra crit chance and multiplier, but the really big one is the auto slow on crits. But if Frostbrand comes back then that goes away. And it will just come down to what I like more. I am a huge fan of totems but lightning caller sounds super fun and aesthetically awesome. World of Fashioncraft.

Stormbringer was added to the alpha in todayâs build, but wowhead doesnât have it yet so I donât know where to look for it. Still no changes to class or spec trees.

YES BOIS! Watching Towlies stream, hes going through the Stormbring stuff on alpha. The capstone talent says LB/CL and Stormstrike has a chance to proc extra nature damage and when this happens 3 times you get a free tempest. Otherwise its 40 MSW to generate Tempest. Thats actually huuuuuuuuuuuuge! Giga hype for that!
Also, we get lightning rod access, which is huuuuuge. And the lightning wolf does say until cancelled. O_o

Jeez literally all the talents then add DRE ontop of everything, Enhance Storm Build is looking very very decent and fun. Looks like itâs going to pump!.
All that free haste and MSW refund during DRE is gonna be juicy!
any new on DRE not making us look like a turd when it pops yet? Cause like, itâs been long enough for us to not suffer this anymore.
Currently no visuals changes yet, Tempest looks decent, but everything else I can see so far looks the exact same.
This is great news for Elemental Shaman. Gives us something to look forward too now.

With the amount of haste and free casts especially 3 free chain Lightning, resets crash and has its own loop, YAY I donât need to cast/Talent Lava Lash. The AoE is nuts as is!
Another expansion of suffering through DRE looks. However, CL is back on the board. Dude we might actually be cleave machines again. I was torn between DK and Shammy but I might not be able to leave Shammy now for DK. Thank god for Warbands so I can level an alt with less friction
CL is gonna be up so much and does so much itâs great if you prefer the lightning aesthetic, but Ascendance model regardless needs a update⊠it has to get one.
I have to say, I like the tree. Not thrilled with the defensive options but I guess even some uptime on damage reduction will help. Overall the tree looks like a healthy mix of extra procs but not super RNG.
I am worried about storm strike being physical damage though and how that will interact with this tree. Hopefully they change it to storm strike gasp damage during the alpha at some point.
