Storm elemental question

Hi shaman friends, I recently picked up ele on my shaman alt and was wondering what the procedure is for storm elemental. I picked up primal elementalist and storm elemental, and guides say to use it on CD. This is fine, but it does not explain what to do during your storm ele. Do i just spam lightning bolt and ignore earth shock AND lava burst? Dump maelstrom with earth shock and ignore lava burst, or still proceed with my rotation as normal?

Thanks!

I use Call the storm and then proceed with LB and ES. when the Storm Elemental is out. Try to pair it with SK.

You can ignore LB

Generally speaking.

You want things like totems and flame shock up before you cast storm elemental.

You will only lightning bolt until you are getting ready to cap MS and then earth shock.

You don’t even want to use instant cast proc of Lava Burst.

For more information

If you just spam LB and ES you’ll do a retarded amount of damage during the last 10 seconds of storm elemental.

What about using SE and PE as a PvP build?..after the recent nerfs, I dont know how to spec for PvP. I use Echo and IF for the 2 tiers now but it does not feel right.

Your issue is that when Storm ele comes out, 99.9% of pvpers will know your strategy to spam lightning bolts. You will be interrupted and it becomes extremely dangerous for yourself as well as a wasted cd that you can’t capitalize with.

I had some moderate success with SE & PE in 2s skirmishes last night.

Was running with an UhDk and we were facing a buttload of rogue comps. It was a nightmare. However I would pop SK and SE shortly after gates open. Drop crit totem and CS totem. I would die 99% of the time. However I would pull like 14k dps from CS and SE. It did set up the DK to win the match in some situations.

Out of 10 or so matches only one team killed the CS totem (after it did 70k dmg) and one other team blinded my ele (most likely by accident).

Rogues are a nightmare matchup for Ele… have always been so.
Most ppl ignore the CS totem Atleast at lower levels.
