Do you like this spell as our major cd? I mean is ok but it has a lot of bugs, and is pretty much hard to fix since they broke other things while fixing it. I’ve played monk since pandaria and sometimes I miss tiger eye brew and chi torpedo doing damage it was a cool interaction. What do you think?
Hard to say. The old mechanics and interactions were not good and I wouldn’t pick Chi Torpedo damage over current Spinning Crane Kick.
Tiger Eye Brew is the only ability I’d want to see integrated back into the kit from anything pre legion and if it came at the loss of anything we currently have I’d also question it a bit.
Part of what was fun about old monk was that it felt rewarding to execute the fight well.
Jump torpedo, canceling clones, and delaying cooldowns for other cooldowns because they dont retroactively gain buffs or reduce the damage of non copied abilities never added to anything that was enjoyable.
Storm, earth, and fire should be a monk ability not windwalker only. Tiger eye brew was best version of WW
SEF has upside and downside. The upside is we have upfront burst. The downside is that our rotation and kit have gradually been made weaker so that upfront burst isn’t as good anymore. That and the bugs ain’t great either.
I do miss TeB, but re-integrating it would be odd. Blizz would have to either mess with our core rotation even more or do some finagling with SEF/Xuen. It’s current PvP talent iteration is an insult and honestly should be rebranded and improved to “Storm Brew: Your attacks ignore armor and cannot be dodged or parried.”
I don’t miss Chi Torpedo doing damage though. It was a sad thing in WoD when Chi Torpedo was one of our top damage contributions. I do miss when Roll cleansed snares though.
No. Leave that buggy spell to the lesser monk spec, windwalker.
I see many dont like jump torpedo, at least for me was fun like a fel rush lol. I agree that the first iterations of WW were more rewarding about doing things right, rn the mastery is pretty odd to me, i know taking back Tigers eye brew will be a bad move but maybe something in between with less bugs or making it intentional, i liked the clipping on fof was a cool mechanic, things like that.
Please, this forum couldn’t handle two of my ego, much less three.
Its iconic and fun spell. It just needs to improve the AI.
I suggest when the spell is cast, the main character deal physical damage and the mirrored images deal non-physical damage (which ignore armor). That will help to compensate the terrible Tiger eye brew PVP talent and to gain better burst.
I loved the old iteration of SEF where it was simply an multi-target clone ability to increase DPS in PvE, and a way to keep targets under pressure and in combat in PvP. Using the clones as a primarily-single-target burst ability is beyond stupid. All I can do with them is have all of them bash one target or bash another target. They might as well have just kept Tigereye Brew. The best iteration of Windwalker as a whole was in WoD, where each ability had some form of utility to increase damage, and the Tigereye Brew as a stacking burst elixir, which created an extremely high skill cap while generously rewarding the player for having time precision and utilizing all of their abilities.
Now, WW has no mechanics.
I like seeing my abilities copied three times but it still ends up feeling a bit “meh”. I think its because of the altered colors (80s neon scheme) and outfit. It cramps up my style!
SEF would be cool if it was like the sub rogue effect. I forget what spell they have but a shadow copies your attack for bonus damage it’s a cool visual and no pet ai required.
Old post but imo SEF is just kind of bland, it’s also incredibly wonky to use in PvP since it can get Novad/Earthgrabbed/incapped/mass entangled/blinding light etc etc.
I’ve see monks lately experiment with Serenity and Xuen’s Treasure legendary with moderate success even at R1 range, but the fact that it’s still a dead talent row for PvE is disheartening.
Nothing I love more than seeing a WW pop out all their pets and slapping down a ring of peace into a leg sweep. Bye Bye uptime lmaaoooo
