I don’t know what they were thinking or who wanted to have storm, earth, and fire over serenity in the rework. If it worked, properly, maybe. But it is abysmally buggy. It does not consistently or accurately scale with damage/stat increases, it doesn’t even get the benefit of courageous impulse for some reason, and FoF being your main damaging ability and it being a frontal clashes with the fact that you have little control over where your spirits are facing, especially since they don’t stack on top of you, but at an angle. It consistently feels like the least satisfying dps CD in the game, and making the new tier bonus build around it feels like compensation for just how bad it is.
The loss of Serenity is why I stopped playing my Monk. SEF is just really, really, really stupid.
I’d be down for serenity to come back as an option. I liked it visually. It was less confusing. Also I kind of hate how as a dwarf i put on a straw hat and my beautiful transmog vanishes for a time …
I preferred having a more focused option and the whole “everything cools down faster” thing was really cool.
With the death of MotC, there’s even less reason to keep SEF around.
Yeah … I mean the more I think of it … the more it makes sense …
In the original Warcraft III version it was a brewmaster ability anyway, and it behaved nothing like it does now except for the split so … they could remake it
If they’re not going to remove it they need to give us serenity back. I am begrudgingly playing my monk again because I really like the tier set this season but I had stopped playing entirely after making it my main when they forced SEF on us. There is no other ability that I hate more in my 20 years of playing this game than SEF. The stupid hat and robes and myriad bugs it has make it frustrating to use and look at.
I’ve always thought that SEF was one of the most visually cool abilities in game. Playing it on my WW or off spec’ing it as my MW toon I haven’t noticed any bugs? I figured their damage was just lower than mine as a feature. Are they supposed to be a 1:1 damage copy because that would be pretty wild.
It’s a 20% damage boost effectively if all copies are hitting the same targets.
Each copy Does 40%. Including you.
It’s cool that you can split up when you’re fighting but not as useful as it used to be since Mark of the crane is gone … ( I still target swap instinctively … ) . I’d much prefer something like serenity
It used to be 35%, and even higher in SL with the right conduit.
Can only hope we’ll get something in midnight - not sure how it would interact with conduit or even SP where you’re missing out on cdr and free spenders when you’re in conduit or forced to press TP in serenity when you have free spenders.
Its prob why it was removed because it means both hero specs wouldn’t work - WW getting gimped again… Especially with 0 dev communication people can only assume

DANG I love conduit on mw, I also love SP on Brew, and I completely forgot this whole time I COULD PLAY CONDUIT ON WW. I’ll try it out sometime
