So what is the plan ?
Don’t stand on top of the flag or if you do stand on top of the flag pop barkskin with brambles when they are trying to cap.
What if they smoke bomb when you are not near flag.
Then you get into the blind sap cheap shot range and thenw hat after trinket?
Smokebomb doesn’t last long enough to fully cap a flag in.
If you are 30+ yards from the flag you should be in stealth. If they find you, sap and then sprint to the flag and smoke bomb you should have enough time to get to them with dash, roar and wild charge. If they blind you while you are in route that means they stopped capping and you can then trinket the blind. The smokebomb will be over so you can get a moonfire off and go sit on the flag in bear form. If they vanish/sap or cheapshot you then pop brambles and hopefully you are in comms calling out the inc to your node.
Chances are they will reset and hope they get retry you with 1 min left on your Trinket.
Double Rogue or Rogue/Druid is a lot tougher to deal with now than SL with Sleeper Lego. If you can’t target both stealth in BGE then chances are they are both heading your way to get a clone/hibernate on you out of the the sap/blind. Be proactive on your callouts in comms.
EDIT to add - I am assuming you know what I mean when I say pop barkskin/brambles. Brambles is a an aoe pulse of damage that will interrupt flag caps so that is while you pop it while standing on the flag while under any CC other than Clone.
Just to add… a few rogues will use smoke bomb to feign the Bear out of stealth and pop vanish as the bear has come out of stealth, yet not in combat, and then land a sap.
Though the real danger for Bears aint rogues. It’s Boomie running Hybernate.
Ooooo I hated that
So basically use a pet class as base sitters …
Wut? They literally gave you solutions to your problem, which you conveniently chose to disregard to fit your narrative.
With the new cc reduction trinket set they only have like a .8 second window to cap off of a sap/blind so just sit in stealth 30yrds away if its a single rouge. IF its Multiple people just spin with brambles and call for back up.
Edit: most pet classes just lose the ego duel with a single rouge if the rouge has every cd they really just by time for back up to get there
No, use a rogue. But tanks are fine if you don’t have one.
Guard flag with another class (two players), save trinket for blind.
One of the reasons I’m not all that interested in RBGs…
Only a few classes can sit the flag, even with multiple CC breaks that Ret has it’s just vanish after the blind and sap again while Forbearance is up.
Many classes can’t defend the flag at all, even with trinket up… sap-> trinket → blind… flag capped.
Yup, and the other team has an advantage because one rogue is on their team you need 2 peeps per flag.
Could be two rogues coming as well. If you have distance from the flag as you should one rogue starts capping and the other pops smoke bomb a second later. Run in to get shadow step CCed. You can ninja a flag even with 2 players if 2 rogues show up.
You can defend for a bit even if it’s 2v1 unless Rogue. Defending as a Rogue is so much easier as well, don’t even have to break stealth to stop caps, just rotate saps and you can keep 3 people from capping in stealth for a good amount of time.
All the vanishes depending on spec help, just have to live long enough after you break stealth to reset the DR and start chain sapping again. Wait a few second after last sap spin flag pop cloak and evasion and live for 8-10 seconds then vanish wait a few seconds and start the sap chain into a KS on one a blind on another and attack the third.
Rogue just ruin RBGs for me, way to strong in flag maps imo.
1v1 do you best to stay as far away from the flag as possible and moonfire spam them. Use Buildings/Trees etc. as LOS.
While Smokebomb doesnt last long enough to get the cap, a little bit of lag, or your reaction time a half second off and it could be all over. Run stop the cap Stun and run out.
Rogues are definitely strong in RBG but having single person base defense and parking the entire rest of the team in a single fight is just a lazy strat. Usually ends with 8 people PvEing the other team for 10 mins while the poor singleton gets repeatedly capped on and everyone blames them for the loss.
Zone defense. Easy to do, more effective than “you’ll never cap on that druid” defense.
Unrelated but i discovered this week that consecration applies blessing of winter to everything it touches so putting down consecration actually spins the flag if you have winter rolling while sapped/blinded etc
The rogue seemed very confused by it
Too bad we’re losing that in 10.0.5 with winter rework
hacker!
nice find
OP doesn’t specify number of rogues, usually i don’t run into this as an issue because people seem to enjoy sitting on flags 2-3 per match sometimes more.
Dont stand on the flag you can just spam moonfire far from the flag and they will never cap on you.
If they use cloak and start capping wait till it falls off before you hit them (5 sec duration 6 sec cap), otherwise your global cooldown will allow the cap to finish.
you have enough time to get to them before they do that, but if you are a druid stealth
