Stop with the "amount" of mounts

I know I said in BFA that if blizzard just put a mount at the end of a progress bar we’d do everything to fill it. Like a carrot on a stick.

Yes, thats true. But now I’m starting to feel anxiety when I even think about all these mounts. Its overwhelming.

I have almost 900 mounts, but now none are special. I don’t care. Hoping on a mount in the main city hub is suddenly pointless, because someone will just get it in a remix. We just look dumb getting on our M+ mounts, PVP mounts, or raid mounts.

When you give too many carrots at the end of a stick, the carrots become less impactful.

We need significant and meaningful quest lines, achieves. Remember the meta mount achieves for BFA? Yes, some parts were RNG and bad design, but many of those steps made those mounts feel SOO impactful and rewarding.

Now mounts are everywhere. And we have 10 recolors of what the horsemen mount or Karazhan horse mount incoming? Really??? You know how much effort I put into getting that mount, and now everyone will have another color?

Didn’t you realize this was DUMB in shadow lands in Zereth Mortis with the mote farm mounts/endless recolors? Wasn’t that when players, who were savvy collectors stopped caring??

Who is even deciding this direction of game rewards.

On top of this some PVE paths feel too structured and there isn’t player choice on direction. It also feels like there is too much content. Plus all mobs die in 1 hit in PVE, which basically makes me fall asleep. And once you make people feel super powerful, you can’t really take that away…

So, guess what is the next solution to that, a “hard mode” pve setting that feels more like classic tuning, where players get to think about each mob pull, And doing quests on that hard mode setting, gives incredible rewards, and completing all quests on that setting each week could award one piece of mythic gear, or leveling on that setting in a new expansion gives an awesome mount. Maybe if we had 3-5 new mounts per tier, plus one in-depth secret mount, then we wouldn’t feel miserable.

This is just too much. Thanks for continuing to ruin my favorite game. I’m quite upset. Thank god we have legion remix coming, the last great expansion, but… well, we have wayyyyy too many mounts. This is stressful.

You have been serving a Mcdonalds fast food product, and the players got fat and happy. But that gluttony has made us miserable.

Also, holy cow… power creep vs. key stone lvl in M+…what are you guys thinking… No one is going to play keys until we get another dinar power boost, and then they’ll push the last 2 weeks. You found a way to kill that content too. Do the math.

I agree with the mount abundance. My mounts don’t feel like they have the same meaning anymore. Makes me want to quit. But not sure about your other rants. Although button bloat is a massive complain amount almost all players now. Can easily be confirmed with an AI search across YouTube videos from PVP to PVE. Turns out the talent trees were a failure. They aren’t the same as classic talent trees, where choices can be made just from reading a tooltip. We have to watch guides and read wowhead to get a tiny grasp of the power choices. And then, once we choose a node it creates a spell, which then we run out of space to place it, and what order do we use?

If a game is too hard to figure out on a players own, then it’s not good design. Legion people could install, play, and learn a rotation and slowly improve without reading any guide or watch any YouTube rotation video.

Class design is a complete disaster and we can see that in M+ attrition and PVP attrition.

Game could die.

Is there an option to delete mounts to declutter?

Mount collection is for the addicts & the company is no different than a grocery store. Business as usual, no one can stop you from getting fat, only yourself. I’m more of a selective player where it comes to mounts. On the other hand, if Mount collection is still creating profits…

Yep, this is the primary reason why I haven’t played in two months and am letting my sub run out. Collecting used to be a major part of what I did, but quite frankly I think they just added way too many items to collect.

That’s funny!

Funny? How so?

Why is it that people come in here with issues of a personal nature towards the game and use those issues as a way to push some inane “solution” to a problem that doesn’t exist?

Everything in PvE is not one-shot content. If that’s all you see, that’s all you choose to do.

What do you mean, “have too many mounts”? This game has been out for over two decades. This is a non-problem.

The mount collecting losed “sense” for years now if you cared for the exclusivity. And the vast majority of the community agree on this ever since they started releasing TCGs on things like Twitch Drops.

Just say bye to your special pixels and farm those you actually like.

Add more mounts please, we need more content from the addicted FOMO players.

You could say the same thing about battle pets.

Bliz puts up a new battle pet and instantly it’s bought, even if it’s attached to an IRL item.

Does the game really need so many battle pets when so many are just recolors of the same thing like rabbits, cockroaches or moths?

Exactly, but I think I’m just saying bye to it all because I don’t really like or need any of it, and the process doesn’t really feel fun anymore.

color options are good.
even with hundreds of mounts, i always seem to struggle to find one which vibes with my transmog :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I’ve been using my Pandaren Phoenix mounts from doing the CM dungeons back in OG MoP… since I got them. About 4% of the playerbase has them, which isn’t exactly rare, but I see them quite often on my main server.

But the thing is, they’re special TO ME. I don’t care if others are on the birds; I worked hard for them, as I had fallen in love with them the first time I saw them.

To this day, the Violet Pandaren Phoenix is my favorite mount. Use what you like, who cares if someone next to you has the same thing.

The fact that you’ve put anything in there that’s not “crimson” shows to me that you’ve got bad taste. Everyone knows the crimson one is the best bro cmon.

I’m glad I realized this when I reached 500. I realized I don’t need to log in every day, that I don’t need to do all the weekly quests, that I don’t need anything!

I don’t think having too many mounts ruins the game; what ruins the game is your relationship with it. If you face the need to complete everything, buy everything, have everything, then fatigue is inevitable. They’ll add House, and it’ll be another completionist’s despair, perhaps worse than the mount ones.

So don’t.

Just think about it one at a time.

I prefer current abundance. But agree eith a hide option so it would take less tim to scroll through. I would hide 80% of mounts an 90% of capes and bracers. easy access to mounts once a month is not a problem for me.

It’s not about the mounts that have accumulated over the years.
In older expansions mount collecting was a clear and manageable goal with a small handful of mounts that were available. There were a few mounts from raid/world bosses, the usual holiday mounts and then a few you could get when you reached Exalted with a faction.
In modern WoW however, mounts are just everywhere and it’s hard to keep track. Trading post, paragon chests, dungeons and raids, reputation mounts, rare mobs, new holiday mounts, shop mounts, subscription mounts, cross promotions, real life promotions (like Mountain Dew), quest lines, achievements, grindable mounts via currency, Deluxe Edition mounts, secret finding mounts… the list goes on and on and it’s just too much.
And this doesn’t even include all of the additional pets and toys.

I was a collector once, but at one point during SL I realized that I would never be able to complete the collections without dedicating most of my personal free time and parts of my finances. I really feel for collectors who fell into the addiction trap.
