Stop trying to take the factions away from me!

Blizzard does the 1-size-fits-all thing to cut costs.

Shadowlands is a good example. There is no Horde story, you get to the Maw and Jaina’s giving orders. You go to the main plot room in Oribos and all the Important Alliance Characters are standing around discussing matters, while Thrall & Baine literally sit in the corner.

They should have done a Horde storyline and an Alliance storyline. Like they did back in Wrath. But that would be more work, so they don’t.

I do find it funny Jaina’s reaction in Torghast to a Horde champion is thinking the Jailer wanted them to fight. Yet Thrall & Baine just go with it when an Alliance champion shows up.

SL will make 3 expacs with no BG presence. BFA had the one. the one no one likes really and the most successful strat for is minimal pvp. Its won by not fighting at all really.

Your and the othere sides grrr I hate you idiots bash heads and the rest hop azerite spikes to actually win the thing. THat bg you could have 6789 kills and 7864358796 damage reported. Don’t pick one bit of rock…its a loss

The main pvp bg for wow 10 will be…AV. again. The proof of faction war is an old AF BG. that is famed for people losing on purpose. Since even here there is cooperation.

It takes 2 to tango. and it takes 2 to turtle. As I found out allliance side more than once stealthing past the bridge to try and get a yard or something to break the turlte and was report afk kicked. Horde wanted the turtke. so did allaince. and thus a truce was made…try to break that truce you will be kicked.

That’s another good point. I didn’t play much of BfA, but I feel like my resentment of factions creeps up when we are forced to be around each other at all hours of our game time. I see the opposite faction in all the SL bases. There is no sense of othering, and we feel like we’re allies when we’re not.

Same thing in Legion, I was totally gnashing at the door to be done with it. Didn’t feel that way in WoD or MoP.

Didn’t MOP have PVP vendors in the open world? Pretty sure I remember sitting on the horde ones killing people just trying to get some gear.

Yes, and it was awesome. They were on opposite ends of the wall in their own tower things and rest of the bridge was a warzone to kill time, and people !

Yeah, was a lot of fun, I remember. Sanctuary cities kinda ruin things for the opposing faction. You literally fly from one sanctuary city to another (Oribos to Cov location).

Some MOP inspiration could be a real benefit to things.

Don’t get me wrong, sanctuary cities have their place. They just have no reason to be every single hub we go to, or daily center. In fact, we need less xfaction “centers” and less protected areas.

A lot of the people wanting factions removed are frustrated because it feels arbitrary. Self included. Blizzard has just been very lazy with making us feel like separate entities.

A rollback to some MoP design philosophy wouldn’t hurt in the slightest.

sips tea MMmmm those delicious grammar errors while calling someone else stupid.

  1. Don’t yell at us. 2. I’m pretty sure everyone would agree to keep the divide if blizz could fix the end game imbalance. I’m not saying there are more horde than alliance. I’m saying there are more horde doing mythic raiding and high mythic plus. This translates into more raiders and more dungeon runners on horde.

It sure is a good thing No one would stop you from doing that.

No, it would be to solve issues with Imbalance, race choice, and role playing opportunities.

Yes. And you can choose to play the Role of a Horde Soldier.
A Faction that has been seen working together with the Alliance time and time again.

But you Can’t work together with the Alliance despite having major Horde characters do it at every turn.

Alright, Now I’m mad

No, Blizzard does not explicitly tell you the Truth of the matter before you start.

Blizzard tells you: “Your Faction Choice can not be changed independently of your race, You can not play with players of the opposite faction.”

That is only half of the truth.
What Blizzard should tell you is:

“The Horde is consistently the best choice for pushing the endgame
The Alliance is consistently better for a focus on casual play”

That would be giving you the Whole truth.

Here’s the Thing Halunaki.
If the Faction divide goes away, no one is gonna stop you from Choosing to only group up with Horde Players.

You should absolutely have that right to choose.

But it is unfair, in turn to say that Players aren’t allowed to group up with whoever they want and we all have to be restricted.

Why should Blizzard tell you something that they cannot control? That’s a player problem, not an official Blizzard stance. lol

OP, you’re a Horde poster so let me explain something really quick.

I love factions. I love PvP. I love the Horde vs. Alliance. I hope we never fully abandon the conflict, tension, and war between our factions.

However.

The Alliance players (like myself, who have Alliance Alts) are struggling to get into end game content due to a faction imbalance. Allowing them to join cross faction PvE content is the best way to allow every player a fair experience while still playing the fantasy that they love.

It won’t be removing faction war, but instead of telling Alliance players to “just join Horde”, why don’t we give them a solution instead?

Just because they didn’t explicitly choose for that to be the case, doesn’t mean it isn’t the case.
There are players, some of which get hundreds of hours deep into playing the Alliance only to learn that it is easier to get into an Endgame guild on the Horde.

The player then realizes a fundamental flaw with WoW’s game design.
There isn’t SUPPOSED to be a wrong faction choice. But there is

If you primarily want to focus on pushing endgame content, it is explicitly easier to pick Horde.

The player inevitably gets upset, maybe now they can’t play their favorite race. And they either Reroll horde, or Buy a Faction Change and Blizz pockets 30 dollars.

And this whole cycle only exacerbates the problem.

Feyrre puts it into good words here.

Blizzard could be up front, and explicitly tell new players:
“The Horde is for Endgame, The Alliance is for Casual content”

This would make the Imbalance even worse, but at least it would be honest.

Or Blizzard could suck it up and Remove the faction divide.
Allow everyone to make guilds and do endgame content together regardless of Race.

This would remove the problem entirely for everyone, everywhere.
And for most players, nothing important would change.

@OP,

Keep your faction war of horde v alliance that’s fine.

But also allow a 3rd neutral faction. Like the Cenarian Circle, Argent Dawn, Kirin Tor to be opened for joining by those of us who are sick of the faction conflict and are willing to help both sides.

So? Wasted time shouldn’t be a huge issue in this genre. The mmorpg genre is a huge time dump.

Faction imbalance isn’t a flaw in the design.

There isn’t. There’s just a smaller community of players on the blue side who do endgame content. Do you actually do any content in this game where you can’t find other players? I doubt it.

That’s common.

So? That’s part of picking factions.

Funny, I use sports for that. I expect it in sports and most people I know give as good as they get when talking things like football.

Ironically, I got “silenced” for a week for saying the LV Raiders suck go Chiefs.

Right now I am spending my $$ to play that game BECAUSE of things like no toxicity between players. My 6 month sub still has a few months left but depending on my RL friends, I may never have to deal with jerks like the kind that kill quest givers, or players that stalk your character to their servers and spend the whole SL pre-patch trying to shut your play time down.

No, I always have people I want to do content With because I play on the Horde.

When I played on the Alliance, it took us multiple days of Pugging players to get together a group for Heroic BoD. We (My guild mates and I) had to write down phone numbers and Battle net addresses and pray everyone showed up. Only for people to leave on the first few wipes and have to start pugging again for multiple hours.

That’s why I decided “It’s not worth picking alliance, there’s an obvious problem here”

So wait, You 100% acknowledge the fact, that your average player is likely to be Upset because of the faction divide, and not be allowed to play the race they want?
