It should never have been added, whichever faction had more people queue’ing for BGs, regardless of faction should have had to deal with the consequences of it. Blizz allowing it to be ignored when it’s convenient for one faction or the other was a mistake and needs to be undone.
Well, Alliance had their fun with it, now it’s the Horde players’ turn. When things shift back to Alliance and both sides have had their turn, we can remove it. But demanding it, enjoying it, and then wanting it eliminated when the other side has its turn…
I think that when should be more of an If.
Well, that will be up to the Alliance playerbase. If they continue to carry on about how their situation is hopeless and they can’t possibly ever get anything done unless the Horde playerbase rides in like the cavalry to save them… that’s not a good look.
Alliance enjoyed it for what, one expansion, Horde has enjoyed it for how many? I honestly don’t know because I never used it on either faction. I eat the queue times. Point is, it was a mistake to begin with and needs to be removed if the factions are so important to people.
Most players I know also refuse to use it. I have never used it. It’s just the hypocrisy that annoys me.
I thought we were talking about a feature that only benefits the horde at the moment?
What incentive does that give to play Alliance?
That same hypocrisy annoys me too, so many want the factions to remain important, but are fine with mercenary mode as long as it makes their gameplay experience better. Either they stick to factions are important regardless or remove the barriers for PvE as well, not the factions themselves.
The same incentive mercenary mode gave to Horde when Alliance players demanded it be added in WoD: None.
But that was for 1 expansion. We have seen it over a span of multiple expansions and it appears to disincentivize people going to the underdog faction.
It’s a failure of a system and should be removed IMHO. Just because Alliance once had it doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be scrapped. Poor logic.
I don’t know if it’s the hours I play or realm group I’m in, but I never had more than a 5-10minute bg que on Horde. I know my WM shard is usually pretty lively, too.
The whole imbalance argument just doesn’t hit me since I see plenty of groups on PF for my alliance, too.
PvE xfaction grouping just feels like it gels with what people expect from an mmo now, and probably why we have seen so many of these threads pop up lately.
Well of course it doesn’t incentivize people to go to the underpopulated faction.
That was never the point. That’s why Alliance players demanded it be added to the game.
You think Alliance players demanded it be added in WoD to help out the Horde?
Your queue times go down from Mercs. It benefits the horde who don’t use it, and the ones who do.
If the system was removed your queue times would increase.
Only if you’re a racist. I can’t believe this is even an argument.
The reason we see these threads is because of the Hall of Fame.
The moment Blizzard added it at the start of BfA, a bunch of Alliance players felt bad that their faction was lagging behind in Hall of Fame progression.
The timing coincides perfectly. Hall of Fame added = Alliance players demand faction merging.
I think one day horde and alliance will be gone. We will be one faction.
I am really tired, can you quote me where I said the implementation was that reason?
I’m only saying what has been caused by the system which has been disincentivize players going to the underdog faction and causing faction imbalance to get worse…
What ? I’m literally an Alliance player advocating for more separation.
Don’t really care one way or the other. Storyline makes sense to ease faction restrictions being even some of the leaders are friendly towards each other. Thrall/Jaina, Anduin/Baine, Alliance helped the Nightborne and Highmountain during Legion, Horde helped the Lightforged.
I honestly thought midway through last expansion we was going to see a different faction system with essentially 4 factions. A true Horde led by Talanji, a neutral Horde led by council, a neutral Alliance led by Anduin & a true Alliance led by Tyrande/Genn. Each neutral faction would be able to team up with 2 of the other factions adding more players for instances but still maintaining pvp war between factions for those that wanted it.
And oops sorry Brewa didn’t mean to reply specifically to you.
That whole wall of text just to make this singular point. It’s like I just read a Karen complaint at the Hardee’s Drive thru.
I mean he’s around so many Karen’s wanting to take away factions? I guess they are all rubbing off on him.
Can you pick me up something from Hardee’s though? Please don’t get in an argument with the manager again, food was cold last time.
