Reminder that pugging is literally more social than sitting in a cut off discord with the same 9 people game after game.
Except the fact that 10 man premades wsg is directly unintended by the game’s design. You objectively have to cheat the system to even do it.
yup. people mistake “season of dads” to mean “everything easy and doable in 30 minutes before kids go to sleep.”
classic is all about the grind. they have stated this is a love letter to classic while adding things to DISCOVER. convenience only goes so far in an old school MMO. no one is entitled to clearing a raid, you have to make friends or make/find a group to be the most successful. same thing in PvP.
while I can empathize with the complaints, the fact is some people have more time than others, and that is what creates the hierarchy in an MMO. when you start giving everyone easy access to the best loot or “participation trophies” (i know that might be inflammatory but its the best phrase i can think of to describe it) you start to go down the path to retail (LFR, weekly loot crates, etc)
classic is about your time being valuable. and yes raids are notably easier in classic, but that doesnt mean the time taken to make a group (especially for 40 mans) isnt challenging.
“people who take the time to group up and run premades”
Stopped reading here.
Hilarious.
Just stop, it’s not endgame content, endgame would be rated BGs.
The only reason we see that many premades in WSG is because ppl think reaching exalted will get them rewards that are not even implemented in the game, and WSG is the only way to grind the rep currently.
I play in premades aswell from time to time because it’s the only way to have some good games (premades vs premades) but most of the time it’s extremely dull graveyard camping, even against some premades that give up after the first teamfight.
The whole point of WSG right now is to stack an optimized comp to grind rep by pubstomping, and it shows.
Btw there is not more social interaction when tagging with 9 randoms you found on /2 (and leave on first loss) than 9 randoms you found through queue.
Just add a solo queue, if premades are truly about competition then there will be 0 impact on queue time.
But pubstomping is a disease that has to be cut from any game that allows it.
Vanilla was defined by how extremely it catered to solo and casual players.
BGs were never meant to be abused by premades. They have always been a playground for PuGs. You are an anti-social, sociopathic griefer for wanting premade vs. PuG to remain.
As if people joining random premades aren’t being anti social.
I’ve been in some where people don’t even turn their mics on or type anything in chat.
I don’t think that video games should be a space where neurotypicals are allowed to make anyone who has anxiety/difficulty communicating with others feel like second class citizens.
If anything, video games should be a haven for people who struggle with social interactions. If they were good at being social, they’re probably be outside making real friends.
Premade WSG groups aren’t even about being friends or social. It’s about creating an unfair advantage with voice comms prior to the match starting so you can obliterate an unorganized enemy in order to most optimally farm as much honor/rep as quickly as possible.
Premades should only be able to fight other premades, because it ruins the spirit of a disorganized / chaotic random battleground.
Because you’re wrong. WoW became popular precisely because it was one of the first MMOs that allowed people to solo pve and pvp content and play more casually. You were forced to group for most things in EQ and other MMOs.
Anyway, if premades are so popular, not sure why having them play each other would be an issue. But we all know solo queuing BGs has always been more popular for the entire history of WoW. And that nearly every game ever made separates premade teams from solo queues, including blizzard games going back to starcraft and WC3. Because everyone (except, apparently, the incompetent current WoW devs) inherently knows it’s not fair or interesting to match premade teams against random solo queue pugs.
Why the hell do I need to join a discord server its not part of the game? And I would rather hear the ambience then some 15 year old screaming Ramp Ramp Ramp!
Agree with you brother
Then don’t group with a 15 year old? You can find like minded individuals. Just have to communicate
Imagine if Overwatch sent you against a full team with voice comms every time you wanted to play by yourself.
That’s the part premade-Andies don’t seem to understand, or a point they’ll gleefully ignore. If premades are how ‘you’re supposed to play’ then you’d have no issue if they removed the solo queue option, made it premade only, fair is fair.
They should just let Ashenvale go to exalted.
Then we’d see if those premade folks were actually playing it for fun, or really just because it was predatory.
I’m betting premades would disappear if they made this change, which is good in my eyes.
yes yes inviting 9 other hunters and priests to run flags against pugs you know will immediately afk so you can farm your pve bracers is a very social experience. some people want to actually pvp unlike you.
This right here is why Gdkps are good. At least if I’m pugging I know I’m a Gdkps the chances of clearing all bosses are astronomically higher.
Why do you need social interaction? Just because it’s an MMO, does not mean you have to be social - ‘Massively Multiplayer Online’ Nowhere is it stated that you have to be social or make ‘friends.’ Nobody talks because we don’t have to anymore. Google is one tab away.
If content is allowed to be soloable, how does that impact you? You’d still be able to form a group and have the content scale to the # of players. OSRS is a prime example of how this can be achieved. The community on there is far more social as well. You definitely don’t come off as someone worth being social around.
What another character/player does/doesn’t do shouldn’t impact you whatsoever. You wasted time typing up this post, for what? Cause other plays want to play a different style than you? How does this impact you OP?
