Its clear, and has been clear, that you cannot trust the general populace to make decisions that are good for the game. There are entirely too many people that will follow the herd. We need assurance that our servers will not be ambushed by the next wave of server transfers from the latest imploding realm.
I play on Grobbulus, a historically Med/High pop server that at most saw 5 minute queues on BWL launch post-release. Everyone here signed up for an immersive RPPvP realm WITHOUT LAYERING and a thriving community that cares about the state of the realm.
We are now sitting in 1hr+ queues, we’ve been swamped with recent transfers that saw reddit and these very forums where people rightfully were proud of the community we built here. A community that’s been hurt badly by the overwhelmingly toxic wave of new transfers that aren’t here because its RPPvP, but because its the new hottest destination.
Non-RP names, people crashing RP events, harassment over PvP ranks/spots blowing up. This is not what those of us who originally rolled on this realm signed up for. We stayed away from queued realms because we didn’t wanna be on a mega server. We wanted a healthy RP population with competitive play. We had it. Now we’re losing our identity.
All because Blizzard wants to squeeze every last bit of cash out of its playerbase that it can.
That’s getting exponentially harder to do. The list of full servers are growing everyday with no end in sight. Even Pagle is a full server now and it’s a pve server and not even balanced.
There are still plenty of low/medium pop servers. Why on earth would it be a bad thing to force the population to either stay on the realms that were queued from the start, or make them spread out to the realms that could USE a population boost?
Just tried to log in to see a 90 minute queue on my server that didn’t have any queues until last week. If this is the new norm, I’m done. Not paying for a transfer, not paying not to play. I don’t want a free transfer. I won’t start over with zero gold and a level 1 elsewhere. They needed to stop allowing transfers to full servers WEEKS ago.
Agreed. This move speaks volumes about Blizz’s level of give a darn to it’s player base. “Somehow” this conversation is extremely familiar. It’s a shame they don’t learn. Grobb is unrecognizable now & they aren’t even interested for a “solution” for it. Not like there’s many RP PvP servers. I seem to recall a mass exodus of loyal subs for the exact same behaviour.
We’ve met a similar fate on Arugal, we had maybe minimal queues on a wednesday for months. Now suddenly we are facing 5-6 hour queues because of waves of fresh xfers. I’ve played on this server since release and now I have to consider xfering just to play the game. The last thing I want to see is Actiblizz taking the easy way out and flipping the layer switch. The biggest slap in the face is that paid xfers to here are STILL open and we dont have free xfers off. As usual with Actiblizz, profits come first.
Blizzard needs to figure out the caps on servers and cap the flow at points. Went from a server with no queue that felt like a Vanilla medium to high pop server to a hour queue, randos jacking up the economy, overrun by Horde (we were semi-balanced beforehand), and a ton of very frustrated players.
A lot of us are former Herod that left back from when Herod was first given free transfers. We left to escape these queues, the massive populations, faction imbalances, etc. Blizzard just f’d it all up. And from Horde on my server the Horde that transferred felt like there were only TWO server choices. Earthfury and one other. Yeah, good job Blizzard!! Funneling massive servers to only TWO servers! Whoever came up with this should take a pay cut.
Why do you think most wont transfer to a medium server (vanilla like high population) despite the constant complaints of resource hogging and unavailability on the bigger servers?
There are like 15+ low or medium servers but people pile on 4, then when they get too bad go to the next 5-7.
Agreed. Grobbulus is full and doesn’t need any more transfers or re-rolls. If you want to play on a RP-PVP server, Deviate Delight is still medium population. They also need more Horde players, so help them and us out.
Kandle, I am deeply saddened by what is happening to RP servers. As someone who very lightly RPs, it’s disturbing that you are getting a bunch of toxic RP griefers.
