So, apparently we learned the Nathrezim/Dreadlords are allied with Sire and the jailer, and were always loyal to the former. There are so many problems with this:
1_ This was never implied at any point before even, Warcraft 3 and pre-SL material made it clear the Dreadlords were agents purely loyal to the legion and Sargeras. A few exceptions did exist that served the void lords, but again they were not implied to serve anyone else than them either.
2_HOW??? Sire Dethnarius and the jailer are arguably as old as the shadowlands itself, and the Nathrezim/Dreadlords have their own homeworld in the main reality, so this doesnât even make any logical sense when you think about it.
3_ " The link between the Nathrezim and the Jailer is clearly established". No, It isnât, its a clumsy retcon. It creates plotholes large enough for Sargerasâ sword to fly through. How exactly does this fit at all? Dreadlords were either void or legion agents, were cleary hailing from a planet in the main reality. How did they even have a way to contact the shadowlands at all? Moreover, they are demons and their souls were either regenerating in the twisting nether or permanently killed off for real if their bodies were destroyed in the Twisting nether or a source tied with strong demon magic(Argus). There is zero evidence that any demon soul could reach the shadowlands in any capacity at all.
Seriously, STOP with this nonsensical retcons. It makes the story even harder to understand because of how nonsensical it gets. What the actual hell?

What are you talking about? The dreadlords are alien from planet Nathreza.

Iâm not the one debating that. Steve Danuser and the wow writting team are applying this retcons that the dreadlords always served Sire Dethnarius, despite tons of continuity points that can instantly shot down that idea. It doesnât even make any logical sense when you think for 2 seconds about it.

Logical sense in an MMO fantasy story line? Ehh get over it.

Ehh just consider it fanfiction, itâs not from the original author anyway.

This one could honestly apply to a good deal of the SL writting, but this one takes the cake. No matter how many retcons you try to apply, its still creates Sargeras-sized plotholes and its just dumb. The funny bit is that iâve seen better written fanfiction than this, imagine getting paid to write crap and apply nonsensical retcons that make zero sense. Moreover, it could have been averted if they just made the Sire-Dreadlords alliance a recent event since the Legionâs final defeat and included a logical explanation for the demons to have broken into the shadowlands.

The less you pay attention to the story nowadays, the more enjoyable the game is. Yes, thatâs kinda sad, but unfortunately it seems to be the way things are going to be.

Yeah. How dare people demand a story thatâs semi-decent and isnât self-contradictory in every new installation. So entitled

The Dreadlords are mentioned in the Illidan Novel as having Nathreza as their Home thus making it their Homeworld.
Nothing in the Illidan Novel(which wasnât written by Blizzard Developers in case you have forgotten!) says they originated from there but that it was their Home at the moment!
There is such a thing as an Adopted Homeworld you know!

Evolving on a home world and simply taking over one; to rename after yourself and or master are two entirely different things.

Ah yes. Good ol GD, where new information coming to light is a âretconâ.

I knew Sire Denathrius was a Dreadlord when I saw his weird backwards knees

And the horns.
And the âdisappears except for his shoulder padsâ death.

Imagine getting this salty about what is honestly, a great change to the story.
By the way, it was implied in pre-shadowlands content. Although you would have easily missed it if you werenât paying attention. One of the whispers Ilâgynoth, Corruption Reborn says during your fight with him is the following: âThe cunning ones kneel before six masters, but serve only oneâ.
The âcunning onesâ are the Dreadlords, they kneel before six masters, which are the leaders of the various cosmic planes, of which there are six. Death, Life, Order, Disorder, Light and Shadow. But they serve only one. Death.
By the way, the Shadowlands? Is quite old. Itâs older than the main reality. Itâs older than the Titan Pantheon. It wasnât even created by the First Ones, but rather it was found and repurposed by them. This makes Sire Denathrius extremely old, and gives him more than enough time to create the Dreadlords and send them into the mortal realm to act as his agents. And of course, theyâd need a base of operations to do all that. Which is why Nathreza exists.

Even before I killed him it was pretty obvious. Plus heâs got that typical Nathrezim arrogance
Always looking down his nose at everyone

Perfect sense or not, it can technically make sense because âwell it turns out the Dreadlords were agents and just adapted to wherever they wentâ but still served Denathrius.
Just because I know there is already a loophole for this, Nathreza could be like another one of the lesser âafterlivesâ in Shadowlands and be very close to Revendreth. At least this sounds like something that will happen.
Finding out something new isnât a retcon.
Are you saying if someone tells you something about themselves you never knew, they are retconning their past?

I can see the point they are trying to make to an extent, but at the same time I feel they are trying to be critical about it before we have all the info.
And really, nothing surprises me in that regard. Hell, we still have people that believe night elf mages being a race/class combo in Cata is lore breaking XD

I think itâs super lazy and stupid too. They really want us to care about the Jailor, but he is a joke.
All they are doing is destroying older, better stories than their own. Itâs really sad to see.

No this one is because Remonia sucked him up into herself.
I know, I know, phrasing.
