Stop the bots

Hrm…I have not seen any official or even credible data showing that this is being done deliberately.

I would suspect this is an artifact of the way sharding works. Individuals get phased first as the impact is on the smallest number of players. Duo’s, trio’s, and up get sharded as nescessary to keep balance. I should imagine people boxing with multiple accounts would tend to accumulate into shards that are filled with such groups naturally as a consequence as they also tend to stay online for longer periods and in one area thus making them the lowest priority for the sharding system to move.

Frustrating if you get sharded with them and can’t herb or mine or skin. But not something that blizz has done deliberately.

Easiest design - “soft” gold cap per week. If char can’t get more than 100k gold per week from any ways, this kills many and many bots.

Another - Check ways of gold.
This is all.
In EVE Online devs ban players even if they get “gold” (plexes) from “regular” pvp activity.

I’m pretty sure people were already aware of it

Current token price is 110k so it’d have to be at least that, also

  • You may use the in-game Shop to purchase a maximum of 20 Tokens per week.

So It’d have to be at least 20*110k=2.2m per week

Until someone buys a used computer with the purpose of playing WoW. or the bot users spend $10 on a new USB wireless adapter, or spend 30seconds masking their MAC address cause it’s really not that hard.

I believe this is an effect of classic running down and the playerbase that was attracted to classic.

If that group can make enough gold and hide it then they really don’t care if they get suspended for a few months since they aren’t interested in retail.

Irony. I just realised that I totally missed your text in parenthesis.

IMO. The only thing that will work to get rid of bots is for players to stop buying gold. There are just too many ways to get around whatever Blizz throws at the bot creators. IP bans, hardware bans, software bans, or even a GM on every server just looking for bots…nothing will stop bots if there are people willing to pay cash for ill-gotten gold.

The drug dealer who sits over at my local CVS has been arrested more than 30 times on drug charges of some sort. Hes always back to selling as soon as hes out of jail. There is money to be made when people have an addiction and the bots are supplying the hit.

I don’t say “spent”, I say “get”. WoW token? Ok, lets week gold limit will be “WoW token price+75%”.
You can get more “potencial” gold per week, by farmin boe mounts, for example. But noone says you “must” sell them same week. From another side, all bots instant die.
Actualy, gold cap has same logic like conquest cap, ash cap etc. And it could and will be problem, but for very few gamers on server.

My point was that you can’t set the amount less than tokens

Why? If you set a max amount of gold gained then they’ll just hit that max and make new accounts :man_shrugging:

I think it’ll be a problem for more people right now as it is quite lucrative to farm herbs ore solo. 100k is 5 hours of farming or 42 minutes a day per week

people have been complaining about bots since forever.

the only thing his video did, was encourage people to spam the forum.

You are wrong.

  1. They don’t need “new accs”, they need profit in billons gold weekly. Or this bisness has not sence.
  2. 1st lvl druids aren’t so good farmers. Chars also need to lvl/gear/repairs/etc. Years ago I participated “iron challenge” and just stoped on some point because things went too slow. Lvling a lot of bots same way fast needs a lot of gold and leaves gold tracks.
  3. Accumulation gold from many low gold capacity bots will be almost imposible for same reasons - low gold capacity. And may be found easier.
    etc.
  4. Gold limit has no influence on almost all gamers.

And this is only 1st step, what makes bot farm are useless. Another steps may do it almost imposible. Also without influence on game expirience legit players.
So, this is only question for Will of Blizzard.

they boost, and stay in boosted gear.
repairs? why would they bother? that’s just eating into profits.

Multiboxing bots on display on Asmon’s stream.

Now people will finally see the evil at play.

Hm, I don’t think so.Think there would just be more frequent bots made, less profit isn’t no profit

Evil bots!
tainting the good name of multiboxxers :frowning:

They are now in Heartwood Grove, I reported them 6 hours ago but they are still there. GMs are being lazy me thinks or worse, working with the botters. #STOPTHEBOTS #BringBackInGameGMs

They just dont get it. lol
the more profitable it is to bot, the more incentive there is to bot.
If they change the rules somewhere to screw with bots, they’ll just adapt and do it differently.
So cap out what each bot can make…and they’ll just bombard the game with 20X more bots.

multiboxers or bots ? two completely different things.

All their gear seems to be crafted, they are using also the Endless Tincture of Renewed Combat and Darkmoon Deck: Putrescence for Trinkets and everything is enchanted and/or gem’ed. They also seem to be working through multiple servers. Got one from Sargaras and another from Stormrage.
