Stop Spoiling Expansions

Just release the content.

Stop spoiling it so far in advance.

To be honest, based on all the information leaked, videos and streams posted…

…I feel like we’re already a few months into Shadowlands and looking forward to the next expansion after Shadowlands.

Now, keep in mind, I am loyal and I will play Shadowlands. I simply suggest, let’s maybe find a way to not just roll out everything for the whole world to see and feast upon.

You wouldn’t need thousands of people to test each expansion if you didn’t always try to add new systems to the gameplay. The core game is fine and we love it.

Is this the very first game you’ve ever played?

and… there is also the option to not look. Thousands of people do it every expansion…

I agree 100%. The exploration of the new world feels so special when you go in knowing nothing - that was my experience in Classic and TBC. But they want to build hype to make $$$.

I wish that this were the case. Unfortunately, if all of your friends look, the details of the new expansion become revealed every time you talk to them! And even Hazel will share new expansion tidbits in her weekly update videos with NO SPOILER WARNING! I feel like I’m four seasons behind in a TV show that hasn’t aired its pilot yet.

As long as content exists it will be leaked. And a lot of times it’s not by the devs but the players who leak it.

I don’t know if you know this but the shadowlands is where we’re going. Sorry if I spoiled it for you.

I mean if you just ignore the content on it, it’s pretty easy to be “unspoiled”

I barely know of what the four zones look like and their stories. Why? Cause I’ve avoided most conversations about said things. The systems on the other hand, need to be talked about so the players can say “Hey, this doesn’t work!” or “Hey, nice job on this. This is good.”

I mean, you could try and have some self control and maybe not go and read up on all the things that get data mined and stuff.

I’ve done that and I am largely clueless to a good deal of what Shadowlands will be about and what it offers.

its kinda weird that blizz doesnt look at things like amazons new mmo and realize the the best time to play one is when everyone knows nothing about it. they should be making beta testers sign NDA’s and not allowing sites like wowhead and mmo champ to datamine. every expac has the opportunity to give us that new MMO feeling but its eroded by all the datamining and youtube content.

Amazon’s MMO is in a totally different life phase than WoW. The 2 really don’t compare. By the time New World finally releases, all of the story, gameplay, zones, etc. will be revealed by the said streamers you’re referring to. Streamers are starting to display all of the information you’re saying Amazon is withholding…

May as well. Not like they listen to any feedback during testing anyways.

I know very little about it and I play WoW a lot so… maybe you can figure out a way not to devour anything they or anyone else leaks/releases/previews. I know its a tough concept in 2020, but you have control over you.

and i think that’s a bad idea on their part. When people know what every npc, enemy mob, boss, weapon skin, armor, raid, and questlines are and look like, they have already seen the entire patch before it even comes out.

I just try look at things like how are classes working, what new systems are coming, some armor sets. Besides hearing about an expansion is not experiencing it.

That’s your own fault really.

No ones forcing you to watch spoiler or beta videos, and most content creators literally put a warning at the start of their video that there will be spoiler content.

In fact all the Lore channels specifically tell you “This is Spoiler, click away now.”

funny, i know there are dumb covenants and conduits… other than that i know jack poop.

I know almost nothing about SL. Do you know how I managed to do that? I don’t click on or read SL related content. I don’t do it to avoid spoilers. I just don’t care.

Thats fine and dandy but if you dont think it contributes to quicker burnout on xpacs because people are just experiencing it through those media outlets instead of through the game your just wrong

Well It may or may not. What exactly do you want Blizzard to do about it, ban beta coverage?

like i said before make beta testers sign NDA’s and do not allow datamining

Sunday was yesterday.
