What’s the point of putting so many awful color variations of mounts in the Trading Post? The same goes for pets. Now we’ve reached the point where we have to pay $160 for a pet and another $40 for a mount exclusive to a promotion? Not to mention the candy worm pet that’s practically exclusive to the USA.
I thought the game had improved with the end of these exclusivities when the TCG promotions stopped, but after years, we’re back to square one. People who don’t live in the USA/Europe are the most affected by a promotion that is not only absurdly expensive but also very exclusive. As if it wasn’t enough to hype up collectibles sold in the Blizz Store for a “limited” time just to urge your consumers to buy everything due to FOMO, now you’re bringing back extremely expensive promotions? It’s ridiculous and makes me reconsider whether I want to keep playing a game from a company that has reached this level of desperation.

imo the game was ruined for collecting when they stopped consistently adding “collect x mount” achievements (maybe other categories too, like pets/toys, I haven’t been following those since lost interest).
I earned the 500 mount achievement automatically and I’ve only been lazily collecting mounts for a while now…
There should be 600, 700, etc (maybe skip to 750 and 1000) made even when they’re unobtainable. That way when it’s ultimately obtainable seeing one would be absolutely wild.

It is surprising that they didn’t add an achievement for TWW, but it’s entirely possible that we’ll see one in a later patch.

What they meant was that everyone has an equal ability to pay for status. Carry runs for gold or cash used to be heavily frowned upon. Now they have their own chat channel. You just know the producers have their finger in that pie, lol.

Sadly just adding one isn’t enough. I mean, Dragonflight added one.
The number is so low for hardcore collectors that it won’t even be a goal. They’ll probably make it 600 and stop despite adding so many mounts consistently now.

I lost interest in collecting, and just do some here and there now. To answer your question.
The mount collection achievements have been easy to hit for a while now.
Edit: Mounts became quantity over quality and the game needs to reflect that for collectors + their achievement system.

I mean if you want to buy overpriced hardware, by all means do so. It is your money after all.
A healthier outlook would be that you don’t absolutely have to have everything in the game and can still happily collect other things.

Look, I have a foolproof plan to beat the system.
Sometime in the future, one of two things will occur. Either there will be an announcement that WoW is shutting down, or you will receive news from your doc that “it’s your time”.
DO NOT SPEND ANY TOKENS IN THE TRADER SHOP UNTIL ONE OF THESE TWO THINGS HAPPEN!!
Then simply buy everything in the Trader shop in one fell swoop without a care in the world.
