The likes are on some sort of weird per-like cd timer, with a max cap.

If you don’t mind swapping toons, you can return to the thread and likes/etc seem to be account-agnostic/toon-specific. I could get on my DK and have likes again.

It’s really dumb.

From what I’ve heard about the likes, you get fifty and they all have their own cooldown. That message tells you that you’re out, but you won’t be getting all fifty at the time frame it mentions, only the one(s) with a cooldown ending soonest.

Is it a thing that has changed just now, or is it capped to a certain number of likes per thread? In 2 hours when you get your likes back, are you able to go to other posts and see if you only get 2?

There is apparently a daily cap. Seems to be a couple dozen normally.
I rarely hit it before I like a LOT of posts.
Now after two or three its telling me I have to wait for more hours.
Its literally NEVER done this since this software change.
This thread is the first time.
I doubt that its a coincidence.

Sadly, things aren’t going to improve until the design philosophy at Blizzard changes, and all I see is the devs doubling down on their desire to control player behavior.

I used maybe three likes after my reset first time around today after waiting for a couple hours.
then it took what I had left and told me I had four hours to wait.
So I waited. And I commented above saying that watch…when it resets they’ll take them again and I’ll have to wait.
Sure enough, used TWO likes and now Im being told I have to wait TWO more hours before I have anymore

Sort of a conspiracy thing. They are all on timers so you get them back as each individual timer runs out. Dumb system, forces people to make extra posts to endorse an idea/statement.
Of course that IS the idea, since most people wouldn’t bother to make a quote post if they can’t ‘like’.

As near as I can tell, we get a certain number of likes, and they have individual 24 hour cooldowns. So if I start with ten, use one, then an hour later use three, then two hours after that use six, 24 hours after I started I’ll have one like available. In 25 hours, I’ll have four (assuming I don’t use any), and in 27 hours, I’ll be back to ten.

It’d strange and deliberately obscure, I think, like trust levels. They don’t seem to want us to know how many likes we have, or how many we’ve used.

all I know is I usually get that message once in a given day and its for many hours later. I wake up the next day and have about the same amount the next day.
Been like that for weeks and weeks now.
This is the very first time this has happened and I post in here every single day.

My comment was in the context of the discussion they were having. About requiring a 20k gold tip from others in order to get a port anywhere and refusing to port anyone else. It’s your time and if you don’t want to give ports out, just don’t. But don’t blame Blizzard if you’re using this situation as an excuse to be rude or unreasonable to others.

That seems to be a no brainer.
I wouldnt give a ride to someone in my car if the mechanic screwed my brakes up and Id TELL the person I aint giving the ride to precisely who messed my car up so theyd know.

This isnt about making gold. Its about getting players who NEED those portals to demand they be returned.

Not really. It’s not the players’ fault that the portals were taken out, but by demanding exorbitant tips and refusing to give ports because of it, you’re punishing the players and not Blizzard.

no one is forcing you to bug me for a port.
If you want to take the long way around, do it.
