Stop making the game like ff14

If I wanted to play ff14 or GW2 I would go play those games.

I tried ff14 during Shadowlands. And it had everything I hated about Shadowlands turned up to 11.

What are they making like FF14?

  1. The main story quest.
  2. Player Housing.
  3. Slutmogs.

Why does every MMO need to be exactly the same?

Actually given the reception of the last MSQ WoW might end up with a more enjoyable plot. Cause god was Wuk Lamat absolutely irritating to hear.

As to the other things, heck yeah bring it on!

Wow’s always had an expansion narrative and leveling story. They’re just focusing it up more. Honestly WoW’s story was more enjoyable over all than XiV’s was for their respective playerbases.

Player housing is in almost every mmo.

The barbarian’s set would like a word with you.

MMOs often borrow and take things from each other and WoW has done that for a long while. As games WoW and xiv feel incredibly different even if they take an idea from each other here and there.

We’ll all that stuff is just en vogue, and that makes popularity and money.

Could use more slugmogs here if you ask me, current (cartoony) art choice leaves much to be desired…

Wow’s always had an expansion narrative and leveling story.

Not always. That was a slow and gradual change that occurred over years. Vanilla WoW basically had 0 story and was 100% gameplay focused.

Wotlk was like 70/30, WoD was like 50/50, BFA was like 30/70. And now it’s like 10/90.

So maybe it’s not right to blame ff14. But people do still point to that as an example that WoW should aspire to be like (in terms of it’s story)

Player housing is in almost every mmo.

Yea I feel like every MMO is becoming the same.

Ah the three pillars that make an MMO, a story, player housing, and showing skin/fur.

Blizzard isn’t stealing ideas, they’re just giving players what they seem to want.

Housing in WoW means I don’t need to play other MMOs anymore (assuming they do it well.) I am all for it.

A main quest, player housing, and slutmogs.

Things that only FF14 has and no other MMORPGs on the market.

Other than the MSQ, which I can’t fathom what about it you’re comparing to FF14 other than its existence, everything else is optional. So turn your soapbox in and go play the game you enjoy and find a mog that covers every inch of your character if that’s what you want.

Pretty funny.

I have saw people call Dawntrail FF14’s Shadowlands.

Oh how the tables have turned.

The arbitrary dislike of things because other things have these things, I don’t get it.

It’s becoming the kind of game that promotes idle RP and ERP.

Basically like one of those second life games.

What are you talking about? FF14 is way ahead of us in slutmog technology.

Stop encouraging blizzard SMH.

Why would I stop encouraging them to make the game better?

OMG and FF14 has login screens too! And an auction house probably! And - eugh - other people in it!

I understand better now where you’re coming from. However, and I hate to break this to you, it has always been this way. There are RP servers for a reason and Goldshire is a trope because it’s always been true. As someone who has spent most of her time on RP servers and some Normal branded ones, I can tell you there is almost no public RP that goes on (noticeably) outside of the RP servers.

Realistically, I’m not sure how RP and ERP happening affects you in any way if you don’t wish to participate in it. And if you are coming across ERP being done publicly (as in the /say ) then I recommend saying something to them. Because as much as I enjoy RP, I don’t think the RPers should be forcing their fun onto others who may be uncomfortable.

If you’re running across people talking in /say and it’s clearly not erotic…move out of range and go about your day. It really shouldn’t be an issue.

But you don’t play wow…

Also where is #3 on your list?

Vanilla had stories that played out at the same time. What it didn’t have was a singular MSQ. The stuff that led to Onyxia comes to mind, as does the questline to unlock BWL. Mind that this worked for vanilla because everything was new and essentially standalone.

Where FFXIV wiped the floor with WoW (I’ve heard the current expansion is not good) was world building and consistency in the writing. And that is something we could benefit from having in WoW.

Bulemy doesn’t actually play video games, he pays a sub just to troll the forums.

He’s best ignored.
