Blizzard, please, I beg you, stop making content that we are forced to do. Rather make the rewards appealing and not time-limited so we can actually want to do the content at our own pace. Content such as island expeditions, visions of nzoth (probably being the best of the 3 due to the shorter length of 20-30 minutes per week) and torghast which are all tied to some sort of borrowed power are not enjoyable to do when you have to do it every week because otherwise you’re going to fall behind. Dungeons and Raids are fun for most players, and is already enough to do in a week. We have enough things to do between dailies/dungeons/raids, we don’t need more.
Instead of tying those instances to borrowed power, tie them to appearances/mounts/toys/titles that players can work towards at their own pace. That will be content for players to do for years to come, new or old players.
Edit: People feel what I stated means remove borrowed power altogether, and I want to clarify that is not what I’m asking for. I’m asking for a similar system as to post-vendor Ny’alotha, where you could work toward your borrowed power through any content (PVP, Raid, Dungeons, Visions) and not feel like you have to do any specific one to progress your character.
Exactly, like visions and torghast are honestly fun, but when you want to do it. Not when the game makes you go there otherwise you can’t craft your legendary so you can raid. Rather let me just go there on my free time to go farm some transmogs. I can’t sit here and say Torghast has not improved, because it has, due to all the cool looking transmogs they’ve added, but the fact that our power is also tied to it feels bad.
Let me know how torghast is forced upon you to do every week ? Did they finally announce the ability to wear a 2nd one ? Or they finally buffing the power to scale with ilvl ?
If dungeons and raids are chores … i really dont think you should be playing wow
Unless you’re running a parade of alts and trying to make a max lego for every one of them, why would you still feel forced to do Torghast or “fall behind”? You should have been done weeks ago.
Not to mention the only difference between a level 4 and level 6 lego are the secondary stats. A max lego is not really required for raiding unless your pushing mythic progression, but again that should have been completed weeks ago.
Why do you still feel the need to run Torghast at this point?
they all know. they just have to bring it up in a snarky way anyway because apparently some folks think we should all be required to post on our “main” so they can vet us and then tell us why our opinions are wrong based on our gear/progression/whatever
This is another “the current legendary system sucks and Torghast could be better” thread? I’ll get behind this.
Torghast could’ve been a great optional feature. But I hate this expansion’s Legendary system. Legendaries aren’t legendary, they’re artifacts, and soul ash is just AP, but you can only get it from one source.
It’s the absolute worst iteration of the AP/Artifact system, IMO, and it has truly ruined Torghast for a lot of people. Especially since there’s almost nothing else in there.
Agree, there are just way to many things to do each week to stay raid ready. I liked it much more in the old days when you just had to make sure you farmed enough gold for your consumables.
They’re fine if we didn’t have to spend all the time setting up in order to start playing them.
Island Expedition rewards are cosmetic. We can jump right in and level and the vendor system works. And there are a lot of rewards to work for and most of them are not borrowed power rewards; they don’t expire by the end of the expansion. And also one can choose not to do Islands and still work on the main expansion system, that is the Azerite Armor.
Shadowlands has too many systems, auxiliary content being tied to all those systems, and all of them have too much setting up.
A problem with Torghast and Legendaries is the setting up. The setting up is a chore that I don’t want to do after I did them the first time on my main. If I’m not going to jump around the rings to set them up on my alts, I’m going to not play these two key components of the expansion. My alts have barely ran Torghast and they barely have any legendaries.
9.1.5 fixes quite a lot of those stuff like covenants, but there are things like Venari, Archivist, etc. Things still need setting up.
Re Islands, I gladly grinded 1000 doubloons for the albatross mount. There’s no such equivalent in Torghast. The currency you earn inside Torghast doesn’t get translated into permanent non-borrowed power rewards. Sure we have two shoulders now. That’s it. Ashes and Cinders are rewards for a borrowed power system that will expire by the end of the expansion and that is not a good enough reason for filthy casuals like me to do Torghast.
It is a waste of time spent on something that will expire by the end of the expansion, wait, by the end of the patch when the next tier of gear rolls in and it’s time to upgrade.
So to reiterate: Too much setting up for too many systems and tying borrowed power to auxiliary content is not a good way to get us interested in playing the game and the game lost a lot of us along the way.
It still is as well as the level of pvp you do . Progression has always been tied to the level of gear you got based on level of the content you got it from .
The only difference now is , since Legion we have had to do these added systems that were put in to fight the ability bloat that was caused by too many buttons to push .
Have you looked at these systems (Artifact Weapon, Azerite Gear /Essences and Soulbinds/COnduits)closely ? All are passive talent trees and with the exception of the one active ability with the weapon , the first essence slot and add in the 2 covenant abilities ,they have all been passive talent trees to add to the player power progression along with gear.
It doesn’t matter if you have progressed all of the system stuff to the max and have open world gear , your power and progression like it was in the past is still going less then a person that has progressed the same system and has stepped into a say a dungeon or raid.
People just want the progression to go back to not doing these systems because in the end gear will always be the deciding factor when it comes to over all player power.
This argument is so tired, my guy. People still want to progress their characters and get better gear and stay as current as they can.
He got all the achievements for mythics about a week into SL, so even though I can’t see how high he’s gone, he’s at least doing that, and for many people M+ is their end game of choice.
What people want to do matters to them. Plenty of people would say you’re not doing “higher end content” because you haven’t killed a mythic boss yet. But that’s just as silly if that’s not something you’re not interested in.
