Stop Ignoring Fury Warriors – We Deserve a Seat at the Table

At this point, it’s hard not to feel like Fury Warriors are the neglected stepchildren of the melee DPS family. While other specs are being showered with buffs, utility, and mechanical love, we’re left struggling to find our place in group content. And frankly, the silence from the dev team is starting to feel less like oversight and more like outright discrimination.

Let’s break this down.

Fury Warriors bring almost nothing to the table when it comes to utility. No Bloodlust. No Brez. No off-heals. No powerful crowd control. What do we get? A 4-second stun on a 30-second cooldown, and Shockwave, if we spec into it. That’s not utility, that’s a participation trophy. In a game where group utility is king—especially in Mythic+—our kit feels outdated and underwhelming.

If you’re going to deny us utility, the tradeoff has to be exceptional damage. But we’re not even getting that. The 5-target cleave cap is a straight-up anchor dragging down our potential. It’s 2025—why are we still shackled by outdated AoE design when nearly every other melee spec has moved on? And before anyone says “but Fury is good single-target,” let’s be honest: good is not good enough. We’re not dominating boss fights. We’re not topping meters. We’re just there, hoping nobody notices our contribution was mediocre at best.

Go look at any Mythic+ DPS ranking—Fury Warrior is consistently at or near the bottom. It’s demoralizing. And yet, despite constant feedback from the Warrior community, nothing changes. We’re not asking to be overpowered. We’re asking to be competitive. We want to feel like our presence in a group matters, not like we’re being carried or pitied.

But that’s not even the worst part. More often than not, we’re not even invited to the group. We’re left sitting in Dornogal, watching Retribution Paladins and Enhancement Shamans get instant invites, while we wait… and wait… and wait. Not because of skill. Not because of gear. But because of Blizzard’s refusal to bring our spec up to par.

We love our class. We love this game. That’s why it hurts so much to feel forgotten. We’re not asking for the world—we’re asking for fairness, for acknowledgment, and for meaningful changes that allow us to stand alongside other melee specs instead of constantly falling behind.

Please, Blizzard. Stop ignoring us. Fury Warriors deserve better.

I am convinced they don’t even read any of these. I haven’t stopped believing since 2004 when I started… But sometimes it’s tough.

I agree mostly. The problem that ive seen happening is something that really annoys me lately is even simpler than needing buffs. That problem is one ability buffing another ability to buff another ability. You are stuck hitting a button to buff another button to buff another button and if the final button doesnt pay off, well, you have to do it all over again and start from square one.

It’s not just Fury, it’s warrior in general. Because we don’t have blood lust or battle rez, we fit into so few comps.
Target cap is a massive problem. What’s worse is the fact that all of our big dps cool downs have gotten gutted from Season 1 and never fixed. Look at Unholy DK right now, they are completely broken in M+. 100% undeniable over powered. Have we seen anything done about them? Nope. If that had of been Warrior dps, you would of been nerfed instantly. Blizzard has a serious problem with the warrior class. They want ppl to reroll all the time, they want ppl to have to gear up multiple toons just to play the game. Simply due to having more interaction with the game, (or paid lvl boost sales). It’s pathetic Blizzard, we already pay our sub, we deserve to be on the same level as all the other dps specs.

Fury Warriors are for the streets. Blizzard wants us angry and churning up the pvp.

It feels so incredibly stupid for me to play my warrior in M+. Like sure it’s nice on bosses, but that ain’t enough folks.

The target cap is a problem, but not one can be fixed without a big patch.

YOU KNOW WHAT IS EASY TO FIX THOUGH? Tune up our AoE spells to actually be worth a damn. Thunderous Roar, Bladestorm, Odyn Fury (holy smokes please massively buff OF it is horrendously awful)

I’m not saying those abilities would save us, but at least if they were relevant we might have a seat at the table.

Getting either lust or brez would go a long way towards making us more desirable in groups. Thematically, it makes sense, at least in my mind it does. Bloodlust can be a war banner type of thing. Brez can be explained by us shouting so loudly at our allies that we bring them back to life. We already have shouts for everything else (extra AP, reducing enemy damage, increasing allies HP, etc.), so what’s one more?

I’m thankful that I don’t play this game at a high enough level where meta really counts. I just get my AOTC and 2500 M+ rating every season and then work on alts until the next season, so thankfully I haven’t really had an issue with being denied from groups, at least not to the extent where it makes my goals unobtainable. I can definitely see it being more of an issue if you are pushing 3000+ and other sweaty content.

I have mained Fury since 2006 and will continue to do so through good and bad because no other class gives me this much joy to play, even if at times we feel lacking relative to other classes.

I don’t care for brez for warriors but the nail in the coffin was when they gave it to paladins…a spit in the face.

A blood lust banner would go a long way, and uncapped aoe. We also need intim shout, berserker shout, and intervene baseline. I’d love to use an improved intervene capability but i wont even pick it up as prot. There’s so many simple things they could do but they’d rather spend tim giving poopy mobile game animations to warriors than just a crumb of respect.

I like utility, especially if you can bake it into other things you are already doing. Would love to see built in slows in pvp, would love to see blood lust…just sayin : )

  1. Make Capstone AoE abilities (roar, bladestorm, ravager, and OF), uncapped since you know, capstone abilities are kinda suppose to be super strong aren’t they?

  2. Make whirlwind buff affect 7 additional targets instead of 4 (would even be fine with compromising with nerfing the cleave down to the original 50% to affect 3 additional targets).

Wow look at that, fury warrior is fixed for m+!

These abilities are not capped, they are sq root post targets. What you’re asking for is just additional tuning to make them more potent which is definitely valid.

Honestly? They need to yeet the meat cleaver mechanic entirely and redesign fury’s AoE to something less restrictive in it’s limited amount it can hit and removing it’s reliance on single target tuning.

Bringing back elements of the Storm of Swords/Annihilator gameplay would be the best way to fix this as it would allow Whirlwind to return to being a harder hitting Area attack on a short cooldown, in addition to adding in an extra ability as the AoE rage dump and benefiting from Slaughtering Strikes, Odyn’s Fury would be the perfect ability to change to a rage dump to suit this playstyle.

Sure it would need some additional tuning since it would have potential b2b casting use cases, but having it beat rampage at 2+ targets making it do 60~65% of rampage’s damage per target (drop off @8+ targets in this “rework”). Yes this also would put in some additional thought process to fury’s gameplay as opposed to just hitting WW every 5th attack, but providing proper roles to Fury’s attacks that are not linked to performance between ST and AoE would go very far in giving fury a chance to compete in M+.

There’s nothing wrong with Odyn’s Fury. The devs said in the 11.1 patch (of the changes to Titan’s Torment): " This change will also allow us to maintain Odyn’s Fury as a powerful and signature Fury ability independent of Avatar."

That warriors aren’t using the “powerful and signature Fury ability” must be a collective miss on us as warriors, as they seem to think OF is in a perfectly fine state.

No I don’t think they are XD

Class tuning announced for Tuesday. Still no OF changes. Making a post in GD if anyone wants to throw in their 2 cents.
