It’s additional content for cosmetics and achievements. Nobody cares if old legendaries scale up except you. Nobody cares that people are incentivized to do old content to get these legendaries except for you.
We season this every expansion with new, additional content. Something scales too hard. Who cares. You break the fun, you break the fun. Stop nuking your own game you actual clowns.
All those players who weren’t going to get anything after the first quest because everything else is timegated over the next 5 weeks — had to stop them immediately.
I’m curious if they’ll immediately hotfix any of the “creative gaming tactics” Echo or Liquid will come up with on Saturday.
My favourite part is when goobers on this forum try to claim the duos event is faceroll easy, but then a whole bunch of people get butthurt when the scaling exploits they were using to do this supposedly faceroll easy content no longer works.
Can’t have your cake and eat it too you goobers. Lmao.
It was never a “have to” in Timewalking. It was just fun. It should have been the same here: just fun if you have them. Not mandatory to beat the content.
I haven’t done it yet. There’s nothing wrong with a challenge. But removing the fun from a calendar world event is just silly. This ain’t RWF. It’s an event. Like Turbulent Timeways. And the only reason they hotfixed it is for their precious e-sports.
I also wouldn’t call it an exploit. Was it an exploit for Mage Tower or Timewalking?
I mean, didn’t blizz repeatedly nerf TW and mage tower Twink gear to the point where there’s no point trying to get a Twink set at all? I would think that behavior suggests something.
Legendaries in Timewalking were just collateral damage when they switched the scaling. You can still use them in the raids.
And if they did nerf them in MT (I wasn’t aware they had, but I don’t keep up with MT info), then I assume it’s because they wanted to keep the challenge mode a challenge mode. Duos is just a world calendar event, though. They never touted it as challenge mode. And none of those rewards scream “challenge mode” to me. It just says, “I’m another world event like Turbulent Timeways.”
So I still don’t see it as an exploit. Even if they turn around and say, “Yeah, we meant it to be challenge content,” it still doesn’t mean it’s an exploit. Just means they didn’t like how certain items were performing in said content— all because “muh e-sports.”
It still looks funny when people claim it’s super easy content but resort to using wonky scaling I get around the intended gameplay. Honestly it just sounds like a rose by any other name type of situation.
As to your point about “having fun”, I agree. They should let us go bonkers in it. I only took issue with the blatant hypocrisy going on with some of the people on the forum who basically fit the category of “sounds like a skill issue” degenerate responses.
All the more reason to allow legendaries, then the team with more long-term invested characters gets a blatant advantage. Good.
The event is gonna be as boring as watching paint fade. They’re gonna pull the exact same number of adds because there’s a cd on the bullhorn, and both are gonna end with a timer within 3 seconds of each other. At least legendaries might mix that up even slightly.
