Stop having Patrons send stuff I can't make and let us decline them

Especially since the game engine seems hellbent on tying those particular orders to skill-point items.

I will not participate in this profession overhaul until this is corrected. Mats are too expensive. You could and should just have a Blue come out and just say “Buy tokens to progress. That’s our intent here. Pay to Win.”

Because that’s what we’d have to do. The game’s economy is a dumpster fire now. Storm Dust sums it up.

Or at least make them a lower tier. Some stuff I can craft, but asking for lvl 4 items so early is crazy. I would hope the patron orders scale up with time…not start out well beyond my abilities to craft.

Not to mention most of the public orders I see are all for that LW belt buckle when the recipe costs half a million in the AH.

This.

You have to spec into multiple things and spend lots of concentration to be able to complete Patron Orders for some professions.

Whoever is designed or set up the system, either doesn’t care or doesn’t understand professions enough.

No, you’re all wrong. If the changes you’re all asking for are put into the game, then we the players are just going to meta game min max it and only unlock the cheapest and easiest things.

Forcing me to waste KP into a different spec just to complete Patron Orders is dumb. The whole point of the skill tree is that you have to specialize.

If you make every player spec a certain way just to be able to complete Patron Orders, you defeat the whole point of skill trees.

You don’t have to complete them. They are optional. Why do you think you should be able to craft every item in the game on the first few weeks?

What are these public orders you speak of? I’m allegedly on a Full realm and haven’t seen one yet.

I don’t think I should be able to craft every item, obviously. I expect to be able to craft the recipes to get KP to progress my professions. I don’t think that they should be locked behind specific builds.

My patrons refreshed today. 3x flask requests, requested 3 star.
I am potion spec…

That’s what I mean. Is this done by AI or do the people doing this have no idea how professions work?

Just imagine what it’s like on a “High” population realm. Public Orders are virtually non-existent and Trade Chat is a ghost town compared to the Full realms like Illidan, Area 52, etc. The system was obviously designed around and caters to Full realms (where most WoW employees probably have toons), and it’s a complete dead end on less populated realms and clusters.

Trade Chat on a server like Illidan is a constant stream of people looking for work or looking for crafts, while on a “high pop” realm like Medivh you’re lucky to see one or two posts every few minutes, and that’s usually just the same people offering their crafts over and over.

It’s a mess that Blizzard keeps pushing forward with because a handful of goblins and content creators spend hours every day streaming themselves making millions of gold so obviously it must be working for everyone lol.

There is lots of orders for PvP gear. The recipes cost 7500 Honor a pop or are a rare drop from boxes you get from winning PvP matches.

Yep. Pretty much all orders are recipes you either need a lucky drop, or have to buy on the AH.

And unless you get get a ton of customers, you’ll have a hard time making your gold back on those things.

I’d pay attention to what is being ordered. If you see something over and over again, it might be worth purchasing if you can get for 10k or under. You could probably go much higher if it is a piece that you see multipile orders for and people are tipping 2k or higher.

Yep! This is all I am getting as well. Like. I can’t do any of these.

I have 6 tailoring patron orders right now and I can’t make a single 1 of them. 2 of them have knowledge as rewards. Great system Blizzard.

Yeah on my alchemist who is max skill, they just got a patron order for 1 mana potion. The reward was a knowledge point. I had to supply all 6 mycobloom, this is outrageous. I can’t be asked to farm all day for that and whats worse is I’m not even potion speced.

Don’t speak in threads if you have nothing intelligent to say aside from making up stuff, or trolling players to derail.

We need the game’s engine and system to do a manual check against what the player ‘can’ make and supply those as the orders. Not Milhouse Manastorm or others asking for things we cannot and will not be able to make for months because we specced Flask or something else.

While we’re at it. Profession Talent respecs need to be a thing. That and paid Class Change Services for characters (to the tune of $45) needs to become a thing so people don’t feel screwed if they play say Warrior, and their professions are on that… and then Blizzard nerfs them to oblivion.

The time sink this entire system has created, makes saying ‘just reroll!’ no longer a feasible or viable response. Timely solutions to these issues will make us actually believe Blizzard is trying to make a quality system, and not just passively boost their WoW Token sales, which is basically “Pay to Win” if they do nothing.

Like I said before, the Storm Dust market gives the why quite elegantly.

No we don’t.
It’s the third week and you should have no expectation of being a master crafter that can fulfill every single order. Erroneous expectations are what need to change, not the game.
The game shouldn’t only be tee ball.
This whole thread is based off an insanely disingenuous premise that no orders are able to be fulfilled. While the freebies like my mana potion scenario are conveniently ignored, which is very real I just completed make 1 mana potion get 1 knowledge for the third time, on two separate characters.
My blacksmith regularly fulfills make 1 core alloy for 1 knowledge point. You guys are asking for them all to be that easy and I say get out. If that’s too much for you to handle stop opening the patron orders.

At he same time, you need one heck of a lot of orders to make back a recipe cost of 100-500k.

Also have to remember that a lot of current recipes won’t be in demand a few months from now, as well. Once we get to season 2 or the next big content patch, most of what is being crafted now will be semi-obsolete.
