You really don’t see the significance of people who, by a huge degree, are the most devoted, most invested players Blizzard has, booing them at a convention?
What about the fact these threads keep existing, that these questions keep appearing at blizzcon? That millions of players LITERALLY UNSUBBED when they tried to remove it, and the only thing that brought subs back up to a comparable point was the release of classic?
Pathfinder is not a compromise. It has not fixed the problem, and it exists as a begrudged, spiteful move by developers who are too lazy to actually build an engaging world. Stop burying your head in the sand.
That is… your opinion. If they announced instead that they were removing LFR people would cheer and others would boo. There are threads everyday asking for its removal. Millions of players have unsubbed because the game has gone away from an MMO and catered to a more casual/ solo experience.
Wrath is usually considered the most popular xpac and it lost millions of subs too.
Also, I find it weird that you talk about classic bringing back so many subs in argument for flying. Since most players in classic returned for the open world adventure that did not include flight.
Sadly Blizzard lives in an echo chamber I mean they lost millions of subs in the first place when they tried to remove flight and even as more people remind them that they don’t support pathfinder Blizzard continues to pretend its “working as intended” and everyone is actually enjoying being grounded until the end of the current content

It’s worse because we didn’t have Pathfinder for most of the game’s life. The fact that people are willing to accept this nonsense with minute changes is pathetic.

Yes, go ahead… just as we had pvp and non-pvp servers, make no-flying servers and let’s see just how many people choose that server. Would be an interesting test.
I know I’ve advocated for no flying servers in the past. I have a feeling blizz knows they would be a wasteland for a number of reasons and thus won’t dedicate the resources to do it.
it would shatter the illusion that the majority of players actually support limiting flight when Blizzard sees them standing empty or so low in population its costing too much to maintain them
of course they technically already have permanent no flight servers called classic
I’d love to see the divide between who picks a flying server and who picks a no flying server. My bet would be the no flying servers would be an absolute ghost town.
It’s because anti-fliers hide behind papa Blizzard to be the bad guy for them. They will always take flying if it’s an option. Almost…as if…the experience is…more fun…with it
Aren’t people already doing that by playing classic servers instead of retail?
They choose to play a 15 year old gaming knowing that even in 2004 it still had massive class imbalance, boring raids and little to no actual content because they like the world/ community better.
well you notice in all the years flight was buyable they said NOTHING but the moment Blizzard goes and decides flying bad all of sudden the same people that suffered in silence jumped up and were like ive hated flight from day one
Exactly. “Anti-flying” threads were nonexistent compared to anti-pathfinder threads now. The ONLY thing I’ve seen (and honestly I never saw it much back then, only after pathfinder was made) was the PvP argument. Which is silly, because we had PvP servers until now and could just as easily force it there instead.
typically even when anti flight threads were made they were almost always from druids and or rogues that were the only 2 classes that had a permanent stealth ability which of course flying rendered them useless since they couldn’t gank as easily if people weren’t on the ground
